I'll start.
Aashiqui 2 - I was pretty sure this wouldn't be my cup of tea, and it wasn't. Given what they had to work with, though, Aditya and Shraddha were tolerable. The songs were nice, too.

I started this one a while back and need to finish it sometime, I guess. In the first half, Aditya did an impressive job of making me sympathize with a type of character I usually detest, while Shraddha was decent when she was given anything more to do than be a placeholder for the female viewer's fantasies-in some ways, I liked her better in the bits I've seen of Luv Ka The End, where she at least gets to be bubbly and kind of feisty. I agree about the songs.

I've always felt ambivalently about this thread, worried that it takes conversation away from the Film Fare subforum. So let's keep to the original spirit of the thread going forth (and Rubicon's post is a good example): short responses to movies. Conversation sparked by comments here could be placed in the appropriate Film Fare subforum with a link to the post here that sparked it, which will hopefully bring about more discussion. Thanks.

What's the one with SRK and Katrina Kaif and Anoushka Sharma? I saw it on a flight back in February but the flight landed before I could see the very end. Keep meaning to get around to watch that part, but the movie disgusted and disappointed me so much I don't know that I will. >.>
Haven't seen anything more recently; right now I'm getting through of a couple of anime series, and it has been a really long time since I watched any anime. ^^;

I agree, also just a reminder, if everyone can avoid spoilers that would be great

Watching old anime: Cowboy Bebop on my brother's recommendation, and Sailor Moon, b/c I swore one day I would see all 200 episodes. O.o

The Lunchbox. Those of you who remember my thread on this movie in "Events" - I didn't make it to the premiere and therefore missed Ritesh Batra and Nimrat Kaur, sadly. I liked it a lot (I think I might have liked it even more if it hadn't been dubbed into German). Hopefully I'll get around to creating a new thread for it in Diasporic Cinema and International Coproductions soon, I'll elaborate a little more on my thoughts there. In short -I'm still thinking about it, its ending, the way the characters reflect on growing older, living, dying and being happy.

Bombay Talkies I enjoyed the first and 3rd films, the young gay man coming out and the little boy who wants to be a dancer. The second was confusing and the 4th just kind of odd, but okay. I did like the song at the end with all of our current stars.

It's cold and sleeting here in north Texas today, so I spent the afternoon in front of a roaring fire. Just me, the dog and Bollywood. I watched 36 China Town. Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna, with Johnny Lever and Paresh Rawal. A decent 'who done it" with some funny twists. Even though I figured out who the culprit was fairly early on, it was still pretty good. Shahid was as cute as ever and I really like him and Kareena together. For a change, I didn't wince when Lever came on, he wasn't as obnoxious as he sometimes is. Not a bad film at all.

Rowdy Rathore rewatch at the More Casual Fan's insistence. I enjoyed this umpteenth viewing more than I thought I would, but I really need to find another Akshay vehicle the MCF likes that much. Work faster, Khiladi. Have been watching Stalin (the Telugu film Salman's next is based on) in installments all November, finally finished it. You can see my thoughts in the thread I started in Beyond Bollywhat. Basically a decent but not great social message/family drama, good vehicle for Chiranjeevi but there are better ones out there. been watching Housefull 2 in weekly half hour sessions while I do my Sunday night ironing. just up to the flashback about Mithun's past. Can't recommend it to other people, but it still amused me and Akshay's control of his eyebrow muscles is impressive.
