Oh dear. Aditi's a very pretty lady who can carry off a lot of things, but that looks like she was transported to the planet Mongo, and Princess Aura dressed her up in an old bedsheet and a dead crystallized anaconda so that she would blend in better. Having a train at the front of your dress? - never a good move, high liklihood of tripping and falling flat on face. What a dreadful dress, poor love

I watched the movie today and overall I enjoyed it. I especially liked the first and third stories and wanted to know the 'what happens next'. I thought the boy playing Vicky in the third story was terrific Saw it on Einthusan. Unfortunately we can't get netflix and Hulu in Australia.

That reminded me of a fly-on-the-wall series I saw a number of years ago - 'A Place in France' - where UK journalist Nigel Farrell and his friend Nippi Singh embark on opening an Indian restaurant in rural France, with the help of the Spice Prince, Reza Mahammad. They weren't up against a Michelin-starred restaurant but the tastes of traditional, rural French people who were completely unused to 'foreign' food, lol. www.imdb.com/title/tt0369151/

My story of Bolly involvement - I became ever so slightly obsessed with Bollywood about 3 years ago. A club I'm involved with (Australian collectors of 12 inch fashion dolls) holds conventions every 2 years for club members to attend. These are held every 2 years and are hosted by members in a different State each time. 2013 was the turn for South Australia to host and we started planning back in 2009 - coming up with a Bollywood theme. It's all very well to say 'We'll have a Bollywood theme' but we needed to find out more about Bollywood movies so I threw myself in (as one of the organisers) to watch whatever I could and find out more about it. Our multicultural free-to-air TV station just happened to view some Bollywood movies as I was embarking on my mission. The first I saw was Veer-Zaara closely followed by Om Shanti Om which I loved so just had to get the DVD. This led to KKHH and an obsession with SRK . Then I came across the Einthusan site so was able to watch more and more. Eventually I came upon Einthusan on Facebook so was able to chat about and compare movies, get recommendations etc... This in turn led to the previous incarnation of the BollyWhat forum which I joined in October 2013. Our Bollywood themed convention (Bollywood Daze) was held in August and went wonderfully well. Everyone enjoyed themselves but, as organisers we were exhausted afterwards. If anyone is slightly interested pictures of our weekend can be seen at abcdoll.org/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=358An important part of our conventions is the exclusive Convention Doll - only available to delegates - and it was my job to prepare these - with some help from other committee members. Again if anyone is slightly interested here's a link to a slideshow I made about the preparation of these. Our event is over and done but I'm still watching Bollywood more than Hollywood

This is just me trying out features of this new forum - I made a little excerpt of my favourite little bit in ' Haule Haule' (RNBDJ) - it always brings a smile to my face - which I uploaded to my photobucket account and am using the link here. Fingers crossed it works.

That explains it - I've seen DDLJ a couple of times but don't have the songs on my iPod so am not terribly familiar with them. Might have to remedy that. Thanks for putting me out of my misery

OK - this is driving me nuts - in the Apna Bombay Talkies song, when SRK appears there is a little refrain from one of his movies and I ought to know which one but it won't come to me. It's driving me to distraction - help, please, someone!!!
Thanks, in anticipation

? I am going to go by Best Buy and ask how to do and what to get. I actually did not understand that answer. I am having to learn all this in my old age. Sorry, lol. if you use a laptop there should be a connection where you can attach it to a bigger monitor/screen so things are bigger on screen (this is what my hubby does with his tiny little laptop). And if your TV has the right connections you can connect laptop to TV and use the TV screen as your computer screen. There is usually one of those F keys or something similar on the keyboard to toggle between screens. i guess you can also do this with a PC but it might depend on how far away your PC is from a TV. i keep meaning to get a longer cable so I can connect laptop to TV and then watch from the comfort of an armchair.

John Day on Spuul. A bank manager resorts to desperate measure to avenge the death of his daughter and an assault on his wife. Violent in parts and no song & dance.

It's cold and sleeting here in north Texas today, so I spent the afternoon in front of a roaring fire. Just me, the dog and Bollywood. I watched 36 China Town. Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor and Akshaye Khanna, with Johnny Lever and Paresh Rawal. A decent 'who done it" with some funny twists. Even though I figured out who the culprit was fairly early on, it was still pretty good. Shahid was as cute as ever and I really like him and Kareena together. For a change, I didn't wince when Lever came on, he wasn't as obnoxious as he sometimes is. Not a bad film at all.
Started to watch it on Spuul but subtitles weren't available - drat.

If you can connect your computer to a separate screen and your tv has the right connections you should be able to watch them on your tv. I might try it myself one day if I can remember to buy a cable the right length.
