I had a wee Google yesterday, and while we do have a New Internationalist online store in NZ (Yay!), it doesn't sell any of the cool Bollywood stuff (Boo!). However, the UK site does, and not only had the cool aprons a la ShantiSal, but also shopping bags, and tablecloths. Here is the Oz website - www.newint.com.au/shop/index.htm - they have the jumbo shopping bags, patio chair cushions and wall hangings made from the movie posters. I haven't checked if they post overseas. I went into their office in the city and bought the apron a couple of years ago.

That apron is pretty cool, SS. It looks like Rekha? At least from the neck up. All your photos are lovely, you gorgeous BollyWhatters, you. John's RNBDJ ones especially made me smile. Judging by a website on the recycled poster the pic is from a Telegu movie but I have no idea which one.

Dil Chahta Hai - three friends learn about life and love. Good movie, I enjoyed it after finally being able to watch it via YouTube.

Satya 2 - tense, thriller type movie with the hero(?) being a psychopath who bumps off everyone in his way. Not sure that his method is a solution to the problem...

I'm not listening to this yet but will be soon - www.jollybollychristmas.co.uk/store/store.htmlThe CD is also available on iTunes where I'm downloading it from - wouldn't get the CD posted in time for Xmas if I ordered it from the website. It sounds quite humorous judging by the sample tracks

When you are watching the ads at the start of a movie (Hindi or Telugu), and you sit there smugly calling out "seen it!" or "already got a copy!"........to your pets. Sad, strange addiction. I'm sadder, because I don't even have any pets to share that kind of knowledge with, so I just say them out loud to myself. Not so much whether I have/seen the film or not, but when they do a fast montage of various dvd releases, or songs from a compilation, I sit there saying which films/songs they are, who the actors are, yada yada. Should I have confessed that in public...? Don't worry - we understand!
