Admittedly, I have only seen like half this film but I'm digging this song tonight. Aamir's performance in it is just *wow* (love the first minute or so, so fierce!) and Katrina looks very stunning. The whole larger than life circus atmosphere is terrific. I wish I had gotten into Bollywood a couple years sooner, so I could have seen this on the big screen.

I love that song sequence, too, but this love song just absolutely sends me. Navy Pier and Millennium Park have never looked more beautiful on film. Note the obligatory three story apartments with back balconies, and we go inexplicably from watering summer flowers, to fall leaves to snow -- but hey, it's Chicago! I'm sure some of the fall colors in the park are digital, but as I saw Halloween displays in the shop windows in some street scenes, they were probably inspired by the real tree fall colors in the city. And I'm sure you know that every street urchin dresses like it's still the 1920's and he's about to sell newspapers on the corner! If you're not from Chicago, the theater the circus is in is actually the Shedd Aquarium. In the later part of the film they use its location right on the lake to very good effect.

Whoa! Da Bean! Now they need Crown Fountain (or as I like to affectionately call it, Creepy Face Fountain) and it'll have everything I love about Chicago. They should film more Hindi movies in Chi-Town. I would travel the 7 hours just to see some of the shoots.

This song is a regular on my iPod...it's one of the most beautiful songs I've heard in Hindi movies from one of my favorite films (though this particular song picturization I've struggled with because of the emotion and the beauty of the song coupled with the "beautifully" directed but gratuitous violence against women in the scene.
