Thank you, newauntie!
I had the surgery on Monday and came home yesterday. It is very nice to be home. All went well, now I just have the recovery ahead of me!

Jab I only just read about your surgery. What scary business! But it is a huge relief that it went well. Eat lots of ice cream and watch lots of Bollywood ; ) You'll be better in no time. My thoughts are with you!!

Hope your recovery is going well, Jab, and you are getting plenty of rest (and, ahem, Bolly watching).

Still here, just things have been kind of crazy at work; not been getting home at a reasonable hour to watch movies, and on the weekends I've been more caught up in my computer art stuff. Hope to be around more soon.

Thank you for the well-wishes everyone! I am starting to get back to normal, thank goodness! I'm just a one-kidney kind of person now.

Well, after a hairy stretch at work and the realization that I needed to use up some vacation time or it would be wasted, I found myself planning a five-day trip with the MCF, on very short notice, which is why I've gotten so quiet lately. It starts middle of next week, and I will probably be out of touch for a while after that, just getting caught up at work again and putting my home in order.

Hi Folks! Nice to read and catch up on everyone though it seems a while since anyone posted on this thread. I have not been very active on the "new" Bollywhat, but was very actvive for a time on the old one. I have been away for many reasons. One reason is I got really frustrated with my local union that was not doing much to educate and organize members on the attempts to privatize public education.(I am a teacher) So I got involved with a group of like minded activists and ran for a position on our Local Executive Board. Politicing and campaigning took up most of my spare time last year. (BTW I won along with 4 others from our group..not a sweep but a good start) Then my mom had a stroke and after 6 months struggling to rehab in a nursing home she passed away last November. (God bless healthcare workers! They helped my family deal with her struggles and loved and cared for her with such dignity and grace!) Then I had a serious illness this past July. I spent 2 weeks in the hospital then 3 weeks recovering in a nursing home myself. I am home now and have taken a medical leave to get my strength and stamina back in order to teach. I have 5 weeks with nothing much to do but eat, sleep, excersize and get caught up on all my Indian film news. I am waaaay behind. Did not even know about the Mani Ratnam, Mahesh Babu, Nagarjuna and Aishwarya Bacchan film that is starting up! I am super excited for Happy New Year and Jr. NTR's Rabhasa though. (I have tried to keep track of Shah Rukh and Tarak's news)

Welcome back, jjake! My condolences on your mother's passing, and hope your recovery goes well. I have not been as on top of the Tollywood news as I might have been. :/ Also excited for Happy New Year.

About to disappear-or at least get a lot less active-for NaNoWriMo. Sorry to miss out on the promotions for Kill Dil and Happy Ending, not quite so sorry where The Shaukeens and Action Jackson are concerned, even though I like the casts.

I'm about to hit the NaNo grind too!! I work on the weekends, so I probably won't get it done this year, but I'll try, dang it! Best of luck to you.

I do most of my writings on weekends, so can't imagine trying to do Nano w/ a weekend job. And thanks.

Oh dearie, it's funny how my busiest times are also the times I tend to get into Bollywood the most - because that's how I procrastinate! I recently submitted a report to an Indian NGO that I had interned with over the summer (thanks to a good word in from one of my professors). I don't remember if I wrote anything about it on Bollywhat, but I interned with a women's rights organization and got to see a lot of the bureaucratic process, and also proved to be somewhat useful as a translator. I'll be forever grateful that I discovered Bollywood - it literally changed the entire path of my life! Anyway now that the report is finished with I can breathe easily and focus on the million and a half school assignments I've been neglecting.
