odadune : excuse-me, I like the way you write, but I don't understand some acronyms: ETA (is it for Edit to add?) and MCF. Could you please tell me more (acronyms were made to go quicker, and I am asking you to slow down, sorry ...) Khatta Meetha (1981): no interest (4/10), except maybe this song: For Jewel Thief (1967), I forgot to mention this incredible last song: A must!

Bobby - I couldn't get into this one. Neither did I. I put 2/10 for Bobby (1973), and idem for Bobby love and lust (2005). So, avoid this one, too ! I did not. Only 5/10. You were lucky to like this movie. I wish I could, too ! Yes, it is an aesthetic movie. Not sufficient for me. 4/10. But I understand your criterion; for me too, the film is good if I feel something when I watch it. Ek Alag Mausam (2003) - I was a bit afraid at the beginning. Would this movie stay so flat? Luckily, it becomes more and more interesting, when the beautiful Aparna (Nandita Das) meets the incredible Dr. Machado (Anupam Kher), George (Rajit Kapur) and the children in the Jeevan Jyoti (Spark of life) Center. Very good philosophical reflection about relationship with AIDS suffering persons. 7/10

Jewel Thief (1967)- Another average movie. Alas, my DVD is 2h55mn long, it suffers from many cuts that makes the edition a bit strange sometimes. 11/20

Hi odadune, thank you very much for your precise and detailed description of your experience with myindiashopping. It was very difficult for me to determine first how many shipping charges I would pay, then how many charges the carrier would ask when I receive the DVDs in my french postbox. I made a simulation with 20 items (2 BDs, one 6-DVDs pack, one 3 DVDs pack, and 16 DVDs), it would cost me Rs. 9700 (5300 for the DVDs and 4400 for the shipping charges), it's a bit expensive, but there are movies I can't find elsewhere. I agree with you, they have certainly the largest stock. As you said it was the post office which delivers in the US, I think it should be the same thing in France. It's worth a try, anyway! I'll make an attempt with 10 or so items. Rang De Basanti (2006) - I watched again this good movie. During the first 20mn, I was wondering why I found it so good. Then Aamir Khan appears, and the film enters another dimension. This actor is so charismatic! Incredible. Then comes the interval, and the movie reaches another level. The second part of the film is a masterpiece, supported by the exceptional music of Rahman. I must add taht I do not morally agree with the despicable act the heroes committed. It's the greatest negative point of the movie, that reduces my note. 15/20

Gattu (2011) - A cute little movie, in which main actors are children, and they get out of it very well !
Gattu lives with his oncle in a poor area of a central India town. He dreams of beating Kali, a black kite flying high in the sky, and which defeats all other kites (by cutting their threads in kites-duels). For the moment, Gattu has lost all his duels. He must find a higher place to fly his new kite. AZnd the highest is... the terrace of the school. Unfortunately, he is too poor to become a student. But he is a smart boy, and...
Very nice atmosphere in this film, and the imagination of Gattu takes you away with him. Rare and original.
7/10
here is the teaser:
By the way, I hesitate to buy at myindiashopping, I am afraid of paying expensives charges to the carrier at the delivery. For instance, I paid once $40 for a $125 purchase at induna's, and $65 (!!!) at mymoviemall's.
Could someone tells me of his experiences with myindiashopping?

Water (2005) - Beautiful film, on a rare subject (hindi widows before the Partition) with sad scenes sometimes (take your tissues with you), and a somptuous music (Rahman, of course). A must-see movie. 8/10

Paisa Vasool (2004) - Five points for the great Sushmita Sen, beautiful, smart, funny. And one for the movie. That makes 6/20

Victoria No. 203: Diamonds Are Forever (2007) - A good one. It was certainly a remake, but I haven't seen the former version of 1972. The story is not bad. Two old funny friends getting out of jail find themselves mixed up in a diamonds stealing and disappearing affair. I think it's one of the best roles held by Anupam Kher, really funny. 14/20

Merci, Sir Odadune ! Janwar (1965) - Another average movie, but a funny version of The Beatles' "I Want to Hold Your Hand". Hilarious!

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998) - For my birthday, my spouse and I took the box of tissues and viewed this movie for the fourth time. Yes, it's not a great movie, some scenes begin to annoy us, but it's still my favorite. Jatin and Lalit's music is perfect, and enhance the feelings. Kajol-Rani-SRK make a magical triangle, the cute little girl plays so well, too, and the mothers, Farida Jalal and Reema Lagoo, with their lovely hearts, are very good directed by Karan Johar. Even Johnny Lever and Salman Khan can't be detested in this film. 19/20Notice that the french translation for the title is "Let your heart speak" (or more exactly: "Let speak your heart") It was late in the evening when we saw "The end", and immediatly my delightful wife switched on her computer and purchased me the Blu-Ray version at amazon's... I am just a lucky guy !

Barfi! (2012) - Sickening, farcical and incoherent. Autism is not a motor handicap, miss "Pissy". Why do actors who play deaf or dumb people always think they are mentally handicaped, and above all, don't breathe? The movie is complicated with flashbacks into flashbacks, and overwhelmed with a breaking-ears accordion we used in France in the early 50's. Many gags were stolen from old movies (Charlie Chaplin's, Bustter Keaton's...) Why does Shruti fall in love with Barfi? Why does Barfi and Jhilmil love each other, and manage to survive in this world? Why isn't that brat Barfi in jail? Luckily, sometimes, we can see the beautiful Ileana and watch the only good actor of the movie: Saurabh Shukla. 3/20 Could have been better with real heartfelt actors.

Hi everybody,
I watched this funny supernatural movie, and liked most of it.
There is some moments in english I didn't quite understood, each time Yamraj makes an apparition, a voice, speaking off, tells something like "Mr. Yamraj, (a)s(uper)natural force (or souls)".
Could someone help me, please (be careful, there can be spoilers in the extracts)
For instance, at 0:46:04
And could the previous sentence be followed by this one : "Even lifes come to a close" ?
You'll equally find the first sentence (Mr. Yamraj, a ...) at 1:23:16, at 1:24:06, 1:45:54, and 1:46:53, and 2:03:17.
Remember, only people who have already seen the movie can watch these extracts. Otherwise, they could spoil some surprises.

Parzania (2005) - Nice actors, historical subject. No choreographies. For once, the violence in some scenes are justified. Inspired by a true story. Great movie. 15/20
