Hi, Poonam here from the old forum ! For some reason, starting with Post#1 feels like having to go back to kindergarten and start all over again. Just kidding, it's always nice to log in here for a dose of filmi wisdom (or snark). And over time, Bollywhat has become my absolute go-to place when I am undecided over whether to watch a film or not.
A bit about myself - I am fortunate to live in New Delhi. Not too close to Bollywood (as in Mumbai)but not too far either for the stars to come visiting. I've had a long, complex on-off relationship with Indian movies, mainly Tamil and Hindi with plenty of Hollywood interludes. At Bollywhat, which I discovered by serendipity a few years back, I have learnt to look at Hindi movies from several new and fascinating perspectives, since most of you are from outside India. It's been a fun and sometimes educational journey - the insights I receive here are amazing, stuff which even my fellow Indian moviegoers (and critics!) seem blind too!
It's quite simpatico that you enjoy the point of view that foreigners bring when discussing BW, Poornima, and we all appreciate your insight as an Indian. I'm glad you made your way over to the new forum, and I'm sure we'll all be pros again on the new board in no time.
"It cannot be stolen by thieves, Nor can it be taken away by kings. It cannot be divided among brothers, It does not cause a load on your shoulders. If spent..It indeed always keeps growing. The wealth of knowledge..Is the most superior wealth of all!"
I am so glad that you joined Poonam! I am right there with you on excited about the new forum, but trying to relearn stuff all over again. Still grieving a bit over the old forum, but that means we get to discuss the old topics again.
