The queen of this kind of song is the item number Sheila Ki Jaawani. It's from Tees Maar Khan, a broad farce about vain shallow showbiz and vain shallow crooks, that ranges from mildly amusing to dull to nails on chalkboard annoying. Sheila was a huge, huge hit-one of the few Bollywood songs I've seen quoted and parodied repeatedly in Tamil and Telugu films. It managed to get enough butts in theaters to make TMK a semi-hit, although the brutally negative word of mouth about the film nearly killed both Akshay Kumar's and Akshaye Khanna's careers. Warning, contains suggestive imagery and lyrics, the video below is subtitled. Sheila ki JaawaniThe next best things about the movie are a song video created solely to promote the film, and the epilogue/end credits song: Tees Maar Khan promo song
Happy Ending
Itni si Baat is a relentlessly blah and sexist melodrama about a husband and wife who switch jobs for a few days, but it has two charming songs about the married couple, and a very funny number where the man is being tormented by his imaginary alter ego: Are Dheere DheereYun Na RoothoRaja O Raja

I'm gonna go ahead and list the entire soundtrack from Deewana (1992). So much wrong with that movie (Rishi Kapoor past his prime, weird and out of nowhere abrupt ending, etc.) but the music is great. "Teri Umeed Tera Intezar" is a beautiful song, "Aisi Deewangi" has a nice groove, and I love "Payaliya"...because bangles!
Also, a slightly unpopular opinion: wasn't the biggest fan of Kal Ho Naa Ho, but the title song is a masterpiece.

I also have one that's probably an unpopular opinion. I don't think Bunty Aur Babli is that great, despite liking Abhishek, Rani, and Big B. However, Aishwarya's item number Kajra Re is one of my all time favorites.

I'll nominate the soundtrack from the movie Prince. I've mentioned it elsewhere, lol - I received the soundtrack CD as a free gift with an Induna order so stuck it on my iPod and heard the songs a few times. Decided to watch the movie and gave up on it after an hour or so. Ludicrous plot and a cast that was taking itself way too seriously...

A lot of great Nadeem-Shravan soundtracks from the early 90's were for some pathetic films. Sure there were some great films like Saajan and Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, but as great as Aashiqui's music was, the film alone was a torture to sit through. It's a wonder how that generation tolerated Rahul Roy and his wooden acting!
