I just bought a ticket. I am going to get on a plane by myself and go. I got row 11 section 118 on an isle towards the stage! I can't believe how much I just spent on a non refundable ticket and now have to go get an airplane ticket and a place to stay. We won't talk about how afraid I am of flying.

Yay! Have a great time (you know that we'll be expecting details when you get back ). And don't worry about the flying - really it's just like taking a bus

I now have a hotel and information on getting to the venue and back. The hotel will take me by shuttle and arrange a taxi for coming back. They will also shuttle me to a store called Mariano's that has the food I can eat. With my problems I have to stay paleo or I will spend the weekend with a headache and stomach cramps. All that is left is arranging a way to and from the airport!

In a worst case scenario, you could probably arrange a taxi to and from the airport, but if you have a friend or relative who can drive and is reliable about punctuality/doing what they say they will do, that might be a better choice. In any case, good luck and have fun!

There are shuttles and things that are about $45 each way. I know no one in Chicago. Comedy friend tried to talk her niece into picking me up, but she had no interest in going to an airport. I don't blame her! So all is arranged but that.

There's already been some discussion of this on the Happy New Year thread. This post is just to say that it's now coming to the UK as well, but we get Madhuri Dixit in addition to the US cast. It's on 5th October, at the O2; more details here and here. Tickets go on sale on 5 September.

They've announced a date in London. It was nice to pretend for a few seconds that I could actually afford to go.

I can't afford to go actually, but this is a once in a lifetime and at 63, almost 64, going anyway! I can spend time paying it off. Now I am in the process of getting my nails "done" for the first time in my life. Now I have to research doing gel nails at home as I seriously cannot afford to keep doing it! The next time someone says how poor they are and do their nail regular at a salon, I won't have much sympathy! It is expensive!
I am so excited!

The countdown is on. Leaving Thursday at 7 am to catch a 10 am flight. That will be fun as 7 is when I usually get up. I have my clothes ready and picked out, and a new tunic for the show. A neck scarf to go with everything. I have a nail appointment and a massage on Wednesday. Nails going to be glitter gold. www.grettyzueger.com/website/catalogproductnew_current.php?code=506-S14 This in eggplant color and the lace in between the embroidery on the hem and sleeves is a green. We found it in a boutique in Niwot. I have a green and gold scarf to go with.

Home. Tired. It was awesome! I was so close to the stage and it was worth everything. Tired, had to deal with Chicago airport and the entire fire/suicide attempt snafu! Details later.

I bought the most expensive outfit I have ever bought (I am thrifty) even did my nails, and I was seriously under dressed. I saw outfits that must have cost thousands. But it was the right outfit as it did fit in anyway. Everyone around me was very nice. The show was awesome. I tried to take pictures but my little camera wasn't up to it. All blurry, but do you think I will ever delete them?? I don't think so. I was yards away from Shah Rukh Khan!! The child behind me was kicking the seat and whining before the show. I was grateful it turned out they were in the wrong seats and moved down 2 rows. But they proved some people have more money than sense. I asked the mother if she was ok. It turned out they paid $350 for her to get a seat and then told her she was going to go see Frozen. The child was not happy. She was about 5 or 6. Even her outfit was fancy! Replaced by two girls who screamed every time they saw Abhishek. I think I am still deaf. This is the only site I have found pictures of the show. www.vancouverdesi.com/news/review-was-shah-rukh-khans-slam-the-tour-worth-the-3-hour-delay-in-vancouver/796561/It was packed!!!! The section next to me was empty and the security people kept coming and going and sitting there for a bit. People kept coming to try to sneak into the seats since we were up front, but they kept making them leave. I could see part of backstage and everyone getting ready to go on stage. That was fun too. I am so glad I went.
