I'm the same phul from the old forum; not an uber-frequent participant over there, I kind of came and went in spurts, but been on the forum since March 2005. You can go dig up my old intro over there if you're so inclined. XD But as an update, I'm an American working on my master's in South Korea. My thesis looks at why Koreans and Indians have differing attitudes toward their former colonizers, Japan and Great Britain. Some of you may have some interesting opinions on this topic, so I may bring it up for discussion on one of the boards. Anyway, happy to be here, hope everybody makes the move quickly and easily so we can have another thriving forum. :3

The Japanese tried to turn the Koreans into Japanese, and fourth-class Japs at that. The British allowed the Indians to remain what they were, and then bribed them to be more like Britons.

Hi phul! Welcome! Fascinating thesis, I'd love to read the finished product if that's ever possible. I've never been to Korea (wait... I actually spent a few hours in the Seoul airport ), but I lived in Japan twice, for about 2.5 years total, and currently work as a Japanese-to-English translator. The first time I was there, in 1995-1996, I witnessed a demonstration by Korean-Japanese protesting for equal rights, and that got me interested in some of the background to that situation. Glad you're here!

Hi everyone! So I hadn't been on the forum in ages (just really busy with life) and needed some lyrics and as usual, tried to quickly jump over to the lyrics section of the forum and lo and behold, there is a new forum and I have to re-register, etc.! I don't care that MY posts are gone, but those valuable lyrics links?! How am I to live without them?!! I hope people post them again soon. On the bright side, it is nice to see so many familiar names on here after so many years. It is good to be back! p.s. To think I was a Bollywood Superstar and now I'm simply Dancing in the Chorus ... **shaking my head**

Thank you! You and your son both are amazing. I was (still am) shocked to see the old forum gone.

If I'm not totally embarrassed by the end result, maybe I'll link it to the forums for everyone to peruse. ^^; I have a friend working in Japan now translating mobile games to English. Sounds like fun work!
