I was ladyhawke over at the old forum. I'm glad my name wasn't taken!
I've been unable to keep up with the board and quite frankly any new Bollywood movies, but I FINALLY have a job that I love (it's actually with the same company I was laid off from four years ago). I was surfing around on youtube and found that I can watch free BW movies there and have just started Don. Yep, I'm that behind.
Anyway.....watching it made me hop on over to the bollywhat forum and was I surprised! A new board and I had to re-register again. I see I'm not the only one that was surprised.
Just a re-introduction. I don't remember what year it was, but I was getting ready for work (I think) and I had the TV on. It was on the Sundance channel and was playing the documentary From Hollywood to Bollywood or something like that. I don't even remember now. And through that I was introduced to something called Bollywood and I was immediately taken with the footage I was seeing. So I ran out and rented the first thing that sounded interesting. Knowing Bollywood movies as much as I do now, it could have been risky!! I imagine what I would have thought if I had started with some realllllly campy over the top ones. I like a lot of those now, but it wouldn't have been good to start off with them! As it happens I started out with Akele Hum Akele Tum and I was smitten. It also made me an instant Aamir Khan fan.
And that's about it! Now I'm going to get back to Don!
