They've been threatening us with another of these for at least a year now, with only Akshay and Riteish confirmed to be signed for it. The most recent announcements have Abhishek costarring and Sajid-Farhad (scriptwriters on the last one) directing. Sajid Khan, who directed the first two, had some kind of falling-out with the producer Sajid Nadiadwala, although they patched things up to some extent, and Sajid K will be credited as a co-creator on the third one. There was a vague rumor last year that this would involve 3 female leads and 5 male ones, but haven't heard anything more about it since then. It is also a safe bet that Farah Khan, whose inventive work on the song picturizations did a lot for the first two films, will not be involved in this, due to her/her husband's falling-out with Akshay over Joker. I sort of like the first two, but can't bring myself to recommend them to other people, and I daresay except for the changing faces behind and in front of the camera this one will be much the same: extremely silly and slapsticky mistaken-identity comedy involving animals, London, mistaken-for-gay jokes, etc.
No idea when they'd be shooting; my own guess would be second half of 2014 at the soonest. The directors are kind of untested; like Sajid K circa Housefull 1 this would be their sophomore effort, but whereas his first movie was the very successful if critically lambasted Heyy Babyy, theirs is the as-yet unreleased It's Entertainment.

Houseful 2 was The Dizzy Dozen, so Houseful 3 should be The Sweet Sixteen, with four actresses born in the 1950-60s playing Mothers. Heh, although I enjoyed Malaika Arora Khan's cameo in HF2, I kind of wish they'd have some more mature female players to go with Boman Irani, Mithun, and the Kapoor brothers (or whichever of those condescends to show up this time). Dimple Kapadia seems like the obvious choice, since she's apparently decided slapstick comedy is a thing she wants to do, and she's related by marriage to one of the cast members.

Remember the Dance Video from a decade or two ago, in which Dimple and an actor play comedians hired to perform at a shaadi by harrasing the bride & groom? She was great! The heroines have been cast, apparently it's all firangis all the time: Sri Lankan Jacqueline Fernandes opposite Akshay, British Amy Jackson opposite Abhishek, and Swedish-Greek Elli Avram opposite Riteish. They are planning on shooting most of the film in England, starting in July, so it's possible (as with Jiah Khan in the first Housefull) that Amy and Elli were cast because it would be easier to get their paperwork in order. I find it hilarious that the same media outlets which were reporting five or six months back that Kriti Sanon had been dropped from consideration due to crowing too loudly about having this one in the bag, are now reporting that she was dropped from consideration for walking out of Singh is Bling a week or two back. Anyway, congrats to Jackie. I'm not particularly a fan of hers, but there's something kind of cool in her evolving from item girl in the first movie, to second heroine in the second movie, to "top" heroine in the third. indiatoday.intoday.in/story/housefull-3-cast-jacqueline-fernandez-elli-avram-amy-jackson-firang-beauties/1/420068.html

All firangi-names this time. I can't put Amy J. on my Jodi-list, because I keep thinking she is English. (I do include JF and John Abraham.)
Wasn't J Fernandez the Lead Actress in Aladdin?

PS 5/9/16 I switched, and added Amy, Lisa Haydon, and Nargis Fakhri to the Actors List, which now has almost 500 names. Sajid Khan is surprisingly more mature/less petty than I would have thought. After he broke up with Jacqueline and started dating Esha Gupta, it's pretty surprising to see Jacqueline in this one and Esha not. Unless I have old gossip?

Well, there's a whole bunch of Sajids involved with this franchise, and it is difficult to keep them all straight. Sajid Khan, who directed the first two and is the brother of Farah Khan, everybody favorite/second favorite director of SRK movies, quarrelled with Sajid Nadiadwala, who produced Heyy Babyy, the Housefull movie, Highway, and produced and directed Salman Khan's Kick. As a result, he is not directing the third one, although they are crediting him as a writer. Sajid Nadiadwala signed Jacqueline for Kick a couple months after she broke up with Sajid Khan. I've never seen anything to suggest that Nadiadwala particularly had a problem with Jackie. In addition, there is a writing team of brothers known professionally as Sajid-Farhad, who wrote dialogue for Housefull 2, Himmatwala and a bunch of Rohit Shetty movies. They directed the Akki-w/dog comedy Entertainment last year, and are directing Housefull 3. I assume they know Jackie from hanging around the Housefull 2 sets, and are okay with her. Sajid Khan was popularly rumored to be dating either Esha or Tamannaah during the filming of Humshakals. Both women have pretty much denied it; Esha has some other known boyfriend, like a businessman or athlete, and Tamannaah was rumored to have dated some attractive, high-status men like Karthik Sivakumar and Ram Charan Teja (both of whom ultimately married other people)-I would not have thought Sajid Khan to be her "type" based on that.

There's been some confirmed stories about John Abraham (who was in Housefull 2) and Nargis Fakhri joining the production. It's unclear whether they are in addition to or instead of people who have been previously cast. There are also unconfirmed reports that Sajid Khan has reconciled with Sajid Nadiadwala and is onboard as director.

Latest news re-confirms Sajid-Farhad as the directors and Akki, Riteish, and Abhishek as the leads and lists the women as Jackie (opposite Akshay), Nargis (opposite Abhishek), and Lisa Haydon (opposite Riteish). I assume scheduling drift led to Amy being dropped in favor of Nargis; Ms. Jackson is a very hot property down South right now, with a lot of commitments. Dunno why they dropped Elli Avram in favor of Lisa, although I like the latter and am certainly happy to see her tie up with the Nadiadwala outfit, especially since they're trying to do a broader spectrum of films. www.boxofficeindia.co.in/lisa-joins-housefull-3/I dunno, personally, I just want this project to die on the vine...EROS and SajidN are allegedly planning on throwing so much money at this project that they might potentially make it a losing proposition even if lots of people go to see it. The directors made a likable and inoffensive but very amateurish movie in Entertainment. And the leading men all really ought to have better things to do with their time at this point. On the other hand, the people involved seem to like making this stuff; Riteish has been looking forward to it, loudly, on twitter lately, and Akshay has claimed these slapstick comedies are a necessary change of pace for him after physically taxing films like Brothers and emotionally draining ones like Gabbar, Baby, and the in-progress Airlift.
