Hello everybody, how do you do ? And what do you sing today ?  Since February the 2nd, I'm trying to translate the beautiful movie, Guide, from english to french. I'm nearly done (1720 lines upon 1876 for the moment), alas I miss a lot of lyrics. Evne though I tried to find them followink the links here, I still can't find them. I just can find hindi lyrics there. Well, at last most of the translation work is done !  There are two songs for which I haven't got any translation, so I used my hindi dictionnaries, but I am not sure of the accuracy. At about 0:16:20, priests are speaking in sanskrit, I believe. I can't understand this language, can you?

From what I can make out it sounds like the Purnamadah mantra, the invocation to the Isha Upanishad. But he's not chanting it...just saying it very fast. So I'm not 100% sure.

Here is the mantra, and the translation: OM poornamadah poornamidam poornaat poornamudachyate poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishyate That (God) is infinite; this (world) is whole; from the infinite the world becomes manifest. From the infinite, even if the whole is taken away, what remains again is the infinite. |

No problem at all That mantra was one of the first things I learned in a Hindu Scriptures class I took last semester, so it has really stuck with me! |
