I haven't watched much Bolly during the last week - our cable TV service suddenly has a dedicated Harry Potter channel so I recorded all the movies in order and we re-watched them, a bit of a Harry Potter-athon.
And it must be so much in my brain that when I went to the city today and came across a team of sportspeople carrying vaguely broomstick shaped sports equipment cases I thought 'Oh! a Quidditch team'. They were, in fact, a dragon boat crew and inside the cases were their oars/paddles. But I did think I had apparated in Diagon Alley for a split second...

Well, I couldn't see this DVD, because it has no subtitles! Has someone seen this movie, and have you subs for it, please? I just saw a snippet of it on Dailymotion and it was in English with French subtitles...

Hi ShantiSal,
Well, I saw it, too, but I can't find any channel which would broadcast the complete film, nor any sites where I could download subtitles (just one in Russian, but it was something fishy, my firewall didn't like it!).
I read on French forums that this movie has very good French subtitles, so it's a pity for me to have no subs at all! I don't speak English well enough to understand these exotic accents, so I keep trying to ask for subtitles.
Main Tulsi Tere Aangan Ki (1978): a strange relation between two half-brothers, a bastard with a great heart, the legitimate one having a protest spirit. No real interest for me, except this song:

C Kkompany (2008) - I don't think anyone here has forgotten that weird 'duck voice' period of music in BW films. Yeah, the theme song is completely duck voice. Not really an amazing movie, but it had some funny moments. Decent cast. Cute. Rajpal Yadav was particularly funny as the little guy who gets beaten down by his wife all the time, gets a little bit of fake power, and starts to think he actually is a real thug. If you're looking for mindless entertainment, this'll work. Music sucks, though.

Wazir - waz good but a lesson to be learned - DO NOT go chasing after a terrorist with a young child in your car! A nice surprise over the end credits with Amitabh Bachchan singing - I have never heard him sing before (that I know of). He has a lovely singing voice.

I finally finished R...Rajkumar, after, what? 2 years? I had started it when it first came to Einthusan, and about halfway through Einthusan crashed on me and has refused to work ever since. And I didn't get around to finishing the movie until now, when I was able to get a copy from the library. I wanted to like it, but except for the songs and Shahid's awesome dancing, I really didn't much. Why would I care about the love life of this criminal and murderer? I really don't get it. I guess I did want Sonakshi's character to be with the guy she wanted rather than the gross guy her uncle was ordering her to marry, but otherwise it was hard for me to care. But the music is great fun! And it is awesome to see someone really make Shahid work his dance skills!

Kapoor&Sons-- It is very good, but no one warned me about the sadness! I did enjoy it, and thought it had nice performances all around. I found one of the big reveals entirely unbelievable, and, in a not completely unrelated note, I thought they made the mother the fall-guy for too much. This is all very vague, I should probably go to the spoilers thread soon to say more! Anyway, it is a good movie, with great characters, and the actors really sink into it. Alia is this close to being a manic pixie dream girl, but I think they held her back from the brink.

Badhaai Ho Badhaai (2002) - Cute flick. I think they could've done a better job with the make-up and fat suit when Anil's character was overweight, but it was easy to ignore when you just focused on the story. Cute little movie. The kind where the second half of the story completely throws the plot in a different direction because a new back story is revealed. I like to call these the 'Teja Twists', because it also just so happens to be a common theme in just about every Ravi Teja movie, too.

The last film I watched was a Telugu film called Maryada Ramanna (2010). Johnny-Lever-type humor, including a talking bicycle. Very funny.
Diwale is next, I'm way behind on my SRK films.

Japanil Kalyanaraman (1985) - So...is it just me or...does Kamal Hassan do a LOT of movies where he plays multiple roles? Apparently this was the first Tamil sequel. So...um...that's interesting, I guess. Trying to find a copy of the first film with English subs, because apparently that one is amazing, but probably going to have to watch without (alack and alas.)

Kapoor & Sons. Very good family drama, with excellent performances all round. It gets melodramatic in places, but not so much as to be offputting, and I like the general tone and messages of the film. Recommended.

Sanam Teri Kasam - It's a beautiful and intense movie. The title track 'Sanam Teri Kasam' (Himesh Reshamiya) is really good.
Both Harshvardhan and Mawra were pretty good.
I wonder why the big production houses fail to deliver such good movies of late when they try to portray this kind of romance/family drama.
If you haven't watched yet, give it a try.
Here is the title track :

Professor Pyarelal (1981): action movie, with people dying before you have the time to get attached to them. Looks like a comics book, a bit caricatural. A risky stunt with a helicopter and a car, I wonder how they did that. 5/10
Now, the strangest lines I've ever read in English (maybe I should have posted this in the "language corner"): have a look at the last sentence (in two parts). I made many cuts in this scene, to shorten it, but leaving the essential meaning:
Is it grammatically correct?
