Telugu Actor Uday Kiran Commits Suicide By Hanging Himself; Celebrities, Fans Express Shock Over his Death
Popular Telugu actor Uday Kiran committed suicide in his flat at Srinagar colony, Punjagutta in Hyderabad on Sunday night.
The actor, who was alone at his home, reportedly hanged himself late on Sunday night. His wife Vishita, whom he married just few months ago, was not at home and had gone to Manikonda for some personal work. Vishita reportedly tried to contact Uday Kiran in his mobile phone, but he did not respond to her calls. She grew suspicious of him and immediately rushed home only to find his body hanging to the ceiling in a room. Vishita and the neighbours rushed Kiran to the Apollo Hospitals in Jubilee Hills, but doctors declared him brought dead, reported The Hindu.
Kiran began his acting debut with "Chitram" in 2000 and the film turned out to be a hit. He followed it with "Nuvvu Nenu" in 2001, which won four Filmfare awards (south) including best actor award for Kiran and five Nandi awards. The actor was popular for his romantic roles and some of his hit films include "Manasantha Nuvve" and "Sriram", which led him to the top league.
Kiran was engaged to actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's daughter in 2003, but the marriage was eventually cancelled. He continued to work in films, but failed to taste success with them. The actor has also acted in a few Tamil films including "Poi", "Vambu Sandai" and "Pen Singam." His last Telugu release was "Jai Sriram", which hit the screens in April 2013.
