Raja Rani, first movie directed by Atlee. Tamil romantic comedy featuring Arya and Nayatara in the main roles with Jai and Nazriya Nazim, with Santhanam in a comedy role (released in September 2013). This is a film about misunderstandings/miscommunication. The tagline of the movie is "There is love after love failure". The film opens with John (Arya) and Regina (Nayanthara) getting married at a church, obviously unhappily. John and Regina have agreed to get married just to make their parents happy. Through lots of backstory and flashbacks, we learn the history of John and Regina's failures in love, and why they are so closed off to each other.
The plot is on the thin side and nothing that hasn't been done before. Performances from Arya and Nayantara are pretty good. Personally I found the characters of Regina (Nayanthara) and Surya (Jai) pretty unlikeable and their story line the least interesting. The funny parts of the movie revolve around John and Regina being mean to one another, with many scenes of John being drunk. Music was pretty good with a humorous number "Hey Baby" with Arya and Santhanam dancing while drunk.
I watched it on Einthusan.com

Overall I liked the movie, mostly based on a strong performance by Nayantara and a spunky performance by Nazriya Nazim. The latter could rival Kajal in that department had she not gotten married. Indian films need a new health warning, though: drinking scenes may be hazardous to your health.
