Is it wrong that I am proud of myself for squeezing five languages and as many decades (if you count Hera Pheri as a 90s film) into one order? It sounds something to be very proud of to me. Lovers of 1940s Bengali films might criticise the narrowness of your choice though Hah, very true

Didn't buy anything today...but...I found this Indian grocery store that rents and sells desi movies and wow! They have so many, and most are subtitled! I'm so relieved that I have found a local place to rent/buy.

Visiting a friend in San Antonio, went back to our old Indian Store haunt we used to go to all the time. Was very sad to see that what used to be half of the store was now only a small shelf in the back. They said people were buying less and less dvds, watching more of them online nowadays. Nevertheless, digging through their small collection, I did manage to gather a few Hindi and Telugu movies. I also convinced my friend to grab Chachi 420 (which oddly enough she hadn't seen yet.) Here's what I picked up: Samardhudu Muthu Maharaja (Rajni Kant ) Dongodi Pelli We for Victory Udhar Ka Sindur All of them were in nice cases (...meaning legally distributed dvd's) and only 99 cents each. I pretty much know that they won't be restocking...and it makes me very sad Pretty soon it's just going to be Youtube and Indunna that I'll be able to get my fix.

I placed an order on the 14th of... August(!) at myindiashopping. 3 weeks later, I contacted them, they told me to wait a few days. So, effectively, I received two thirds of my command 3 days later: DVD OH MY GOD ! Rps299 DVD Iti Mrinalini Rps399 DVD ANAND Rps99 DVD Pithamagan Rps70 DVD HOUSEFULL (3 DVDs pack) Rps299 BRD OM SHANTI OM Rps999 Good surprise: I didn't pay any extra fees, as I used to with induna (not much), or mymoviemall (very expensive extra fees) But I had paid already to myindiashopping Rps2298 for shipping charges. I thougt that the Om Shanti Om Blu-Ray Disc was a copy, because the cover mentions "Bonus: The making of", but the BD has no menu. When put in my standalone player, the movie starts at once. After having contacted myindiashopping, they told me to try another standalone player. I did it: the menu appears. It was not a copy And 3 DVDs were missing: DVD alibabavum 40 thirudargalum Rps70 DVD Hero No.1 Rps125 DVD Balabharatam (N) Rps135 After some correspondance with the shop, they told me that one DVD was awaited, and the 3 will be sent top me as it arrives. That was two weeks ago. I now consider they are cheaters, and will never buy anything at them. I am glad to have tried with a small amount. And my purpose was essentially to obtain OSO in great quality. Even if I haven't any bonus, the movie is perfect. So I can say I am satisfied (not quite, but satisfied anyway). I am too old now not to be pleased by what I gain.

Re-bought Dil Se, this time the original EROS edition: very neat. Ghar Grihasti with A. Kumar My Father's Daughter (2002) No subtitles for this last one, alas. Seem impossible to find on the web. By chance, has any of you a DVD with the subs?

I got the bulk of the more expensive items I had ordered from them but there are still a few films yet to arrive. I emailed them over the weekend and they have not yet responded.

Thank you odadune. Don't worry, even if I am not fully pleased, I am still happy! As I found Jeffcoat's Outsourced movie very nice, I bought the Complete Series (3 DVDs pack), very funny. I even found french subtitles on the web for these ones (and I am recreating french subs for the movie)

Was so disappointed when the series got canceled.

All right, I discussed with them two weeks ago. They had their chance. Now I don't want to hear about them anymore. I don't treat with cheaters. Soory, there are a few honnest guys in the world, and I am proud to say I am one of them. Now, please, forget this story, it belongs to the past. But thank you for your concern, odadune.

On October 14 I celebrated one year tobacco free! So to commemorate this first milestone I ordered the Lunchbox, Gulaab Gang, Gunday, Singham Returns, Queen and Dhoom 3. Can't wait to see on them on TV rather than on the pc.

I must apologize about myindiashopping. For some reason or another, the OM Shanti OM Blu-Ray Gisc couldn't play correctly on my LG standalone player. I managed to see with my PC that actually there were really bonuses! And, as a good news never comes alone, I received two of the three remaining DVDs, exactly 9 weeks after my order. Chi va piano va sano (Slow and steady...)!

Just bought a two-disc Lagaan DVD...yay! Hey Emily - This is a few months later but where did you get your copy of Lagaan and have you been able to play it? (I assume you're in the US) I've had bad luck with getting a copy of Lagaan I could play in the US, at least on my old-ish dvd player. I've got two copies, neither of which I can currently watch. The second one I purchased the seller insisted I could play it in the US, but alas...
