Kuzey Guney started a few weeks ago. I thought that the first episode started off a bit slowly but was very interesting towards the end. Even from he first episode I felt that, although Guney was the "good boy" and Kuzey was the hot-headed "good for nothing," Kuzey would be the nicer, and better, person. So far, from what I've seen, that is the case. I liked the actor who plays Guney when he was on Fatmagul but I can't stand him in this - probably because I find Guney to be such a whiny and wimpy character so good job by the actor 'cause I really can't stand him. Everytime I hear Guney accuse Kuzey of ruining his life I just want to give him a piece of my mind - thank God the father did that last episode (the father is so abusive that I never thought that I would be saying anythng positive about him). Speaking of the characters, I'm not finding any of the women sympathetic; we have a mother who favours her one son to the detriment of the other one; another mother who is pressing her daughter to become an actress so that she can live her dreams through her daughter (I love the shorter, curly do on Zerrin Tekindor); and another woman who throws herself at an engaged man though to be honest he doesn't really discourage her - whenever she makes a move he half-heartily tells her that he has a girlfriend/is engaged; his words may be saying "no" but his actions aren't and all this because Banu is rich and he wants to work in her father's company - what a weasel! Cemre is probably the nicest but I don't find her sympathetic - maybe it has something to do with the actress.
This is not one of my "must-watch" series - I only watch it occassionally.

They ripped off London Thumukda! Haha. The actress looks a bit like Miranda Kerr.

I did some searching; the film's music composer (Yıldıray Gürgen) actually confirmed on twitter that they bought the song's copyrights.. Yay!

Has anyone seen Paramparca (the tv series ot the movie)? I like both Nurgül Yeşilçay and Erkan Petekkaya but it gets quite disheartening to keep on seeing poor Gulseren being treated like dirt time and time again (talk about someone being kicked when they're down). And the sister-in-law. Wow! She makes Fatmagul's sister-in-law look like an angel in comparison.

Paramparca which literally means 'in pieces" or "shattered" looked and sounded too depressing for my taste when I saw the trailers. I don't think it's going to get more lighthearted story wise. At the moment, I am at this stage where I want to follow serials which makes me laugh more than they make me sad. So I stay away from serials like Paramparca.

To be honest, the trailers didn't look all that interesting but I somehow ended up watching the first episode and, as my mother says, once you start watching you get hooked. I stopped watching after about 5-6 episodes - I had had enough of people treting Gulseren like rubbish just because she's poor also most of the characters are completely unlikeable (only about 4 people are likeabe).
