Way cool! I personally think that Ishq Shava is very underrated (at least in the western fandom) both as a song and a picturization, so I was happy to see it on your list along with a bunch of acknowledged classics  |

It's amazing! I took a hiatus between halves of JTHJ (like...a six month hiatus haha) and when I returned to watch it, I then watched it again in full and was struck at how epic Ishq Shava is. I've got it on a CD I listen to a lot in the car & I think it might be my favorite on that CD. It just rocks. ETA: I'm glad we've started a new page. All those videos on the other one were really giving my computer a headache  |

Some notes. 15 You Are My Soniya (darling). I'm glad that someone besides me likes this. I like Kareena here. 14 Where's The Party Tonight (abbr.) links to full version, and to Rock&Roll Soniya. That makes two Party Dances in this movie. 11 aka Five-Woman Dance translates "someday we'll meet & walk" mistranslates "fear meeting & walking  " lost count Ishq Shava. I agree with Odadune: Underrated. Bottle business evokes a scene from Devdas: SRK & another man are dancing around a bottle, and then Madhuri dances in and takes it! Desi Girl: one of my Top Ten; most popular on AVS Total Requests; best part IMO is when PC takes the flattery addressed to her, and turns it into a complement to all Desi women! Chaiyya (shadows): singers often say "taiyya" (dance). I call it Chaiya Taiya Train Dance.

I wanted to add two others from Bend it like Beckham and Bollywood Queen but unfortunately I can't find full scenes, only the trailers! The one from BILB is the full version of wedding dance which was cut off in the movie but inserted into deleted/extended scenes section on the DVD. Bollywood Bride had a song called Butterfly sung and danced by Preeya Kalidas and two friends, plus a troupe of dancers.
I'm going to be sneaky now but watch this...

'Shaadi Mubarak Bole Shehnai' from the film 'Swati'. This was very early in Madhuri's career and she's dancing with Meenakshi Sheshadri. Both Madhuri and Meenakshi are great dancers.
This one is a brief clip of Hema Malini's dance from the film 'Abhinetri'.
And I also remembered 'Lapak Jhapak' from Esha Deol's film 'Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche. I know people often give Esha a hard time because of the inevitable comparisons to her mother, but I actually think she's a good dancer.

I check Swati in Wikipedia. Meenakshi & Madhuri are not playing Pro Dancers. They are playing the daughters of those getting Shaadied. Not a Pro dance then, but grown kids celebrating.
MS has Top Billing over Shamilla Tagore, playing her mother, and Shashi Kapoor, playing Madz' father.
Madhuri is billed fifth, behind "Akbar Khan" who plays a friend of Swati.
Note years of birth: Kapoor 1938, Tagore 1946, Madz 1967. As for Meenakshi, my Jodi-list give 1963, as does IMDb (which I didn't know about when I made her entry). Wikipedia, which I had known about and presumably used, now says 1957.
That would have made her 39 when she herself married, and at least 40 when her first child was born.

I have never seen Esha's *dancing* ability questioned. It's her *acting* and especially her charisma that are generally deemed "not up to her parents' standards." Of course, those are the very highest standards! Dancelover, who thinks that Esha resembles Dharmandra more than Hema [snip - dancelover] And I also remembered 'Lapak Jhapak' from Esha Deol's film 'Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche. Lahu Munh Lag Gaya - Ram Leela (one of the sexiest dances ever)
Bole Chudiyan - K3G
Chhabeela - Saawariya (Rani is magic)
Gun Gun Guna - Agneepath
Jogi Mahi - Bachna Ae Haseeno (I'll forgive Ranbir a lot...including the overrated Barfi-Chaplin ripoff solely because his dancing is so perfect...this is one of my top ten songs of all time, too)
Punjabi Wedding Song - Hasee Toh Phasee (I know neither Parineeti or Siddarth are naturally talented dancers, but this one is charming)
Salaam-E-Ishq title song (I love montages and ensemble casts and this 8 minute dance sequence has it all, plus this is the number where I finally realized what all the fuss was about with Govinda's dancing)
Madhubala - Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (I'd love to get drunk on bhang and dance with Ali and Imran!)
Aaja Nachle - title song
Dum Dum - Band Baaja Baarat
Mallo Malli - Mausam (Shahid dancing in a suit with such precision and swagger)
Nagada Nagada - Jab We Met (totally agree that this sequence is Bollywood heaven)
Gallan Goodiyaan - Dil Dhadakne Do (the single shot is impressive if almost too much, but I like the organic feeling)
Dil Laga Na - Dhoom 2 (An underrated song...it's kind of all over the place and ridiculous but those Hrithik moments are droolworthy)
