Hello everyone, I rthink I have found the meaning of it: thanks to google, "Refrigerator" (or "The Fridge") was William Perry's nickname. But: why would he tie a ribbon around the ball? EDIT: sorry, I mistook! He would kick the ball, even if it wore a ribbon.

The picture seems to be very tiny this time, so is hard to read. (But I couldn't be of much help anyway, as it's about American Football, which is a foreign world.)

Yes, I think that's the correct interpretation of the cartoon, if the copyright is 1986 or so. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Perry_(American_football)I wonder if a library near you would have issues of Life or Time Magazine from the same period as the Peanuts you are reading. Might fill in a lot of gaps.

Sorry, for the first time I didn't use one of mine. You can surely see better here: peanuts.wikia.com/wiki/October_1986_comic_strips?file=Pe861016.gifor there: peanuts.wikia.com/wiki/October_1986_comic_stripsthanks to google, "Refrigerator" (or "The Fridge") was William Perry's nickname. Might fill in a lot of gaps. Could be a good idea. Alas, I'm living in a small French town, and the English section is narrow. Anyway, I like to search on the web before asking in this topic. I hope I am not bothering you too much. Don't hesitate to tell me.

I hope I am not bothering you too much. No, not at all.
