Box Office India has ranked "Young Upcoming Actors" born from 1981 (Shahid) to 1990 (Tiger), by the Average Net Income of the films they made. Each made at least 4, and no more than 8. BOI counted eight men in this category.
1 Ranbir Kapoor average 84.57 crore over 7 films. 2 Varun Dhawan average 83.06 cr. over 8 films (including Dilwale, which was really SRK's). 3 Ranveer Singh av. 80.45 crore over 7 films. ... (no one in the 70's) ... 4 Siddharth Malhotra av. 61.27 cr. over 6 films. 5 Arjun Kapoor average 54.22 cr. over 8 films. 6 Sushant Singh Rajput av. 51.36 cr. over 5 films. 7 Tiger Shroff average 47.81 crore over 4 films. 8 Shahid Kapoor av. 42.8 crore over 7 films.
Only films in the last 5.5 years, beginning with Barfi, Lootera, and Teri Meri Kahani, are counted.
BOI notes that if Dilwale was not credited to Varun, then Ranveer would be ahead of him, but also notes that there are usually reasons to exclude some film from a count.
