Indian film actor Vinod Khanna, born October 6, 1946, died on April 27, 2017, of bladder cancer.
He played Amar in Amar Akbar Anthony, and many other significant roles in Hindi.
His debut was in Sunil Dutt's film Man Ka Meet, as the villain. He stole the film from Som Dutt, Sunil's bhai, whose launch this film was supposed to be.
He had jodis with Dimple Kapadia six times, and with Shabana Azmi and Menakshi Sheshradi four times each. He played Amitaub Bachchan's brother at least three times, and his friend or rival at least three more.
He was married to Geetanjali for fourteen years. Their children are the actors Akshaye Khanna and Rahul Khanna. He had been married to Kavita Daftary for twenty-seven years by the time of his death.
He will be much missed in Bollywood.

This man was a legend!!! In 1975 Khanna got the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for ‘Haath Ki Safai’. In 1977 he was nominated for Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for ‘Hera Pheri’. He got the Filmfare Nomination for Best Supporting Actor for ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikander’ in 1979. In 1981 he got the Filmfare Nomination for Best Actor for ‘Qurbani’. In 1999 he got the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Later in 2001, he got the Kalakar Awards Lifetime Achievement. In 2005 he got the Stardust Award for Role Model for the Year. He got the Zee Cine Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2007. Can you believe how many awards this man has got?
