I just set up Internal Links between Sanam Re Upcoming (874) and a new Reviews & Spoilers (1132). My attempts to use the links gave Internal Error - thread not found. I tested the Fitoor links, and got the same result. This is the first time this problem has happened to me.

This usually happens when maintenance is being performed on the site by proboards. Did the problem last for very long? Seems like everything is fine now.

The problem had not been fixed on the second day. Today, just now, my attempt to go from 1132 (Sanam Re R&S) to 874 (Sanam Re Upcoming) got "Oops ... thread ... could not be found." Attempt from 1114 (Airlift R&S) to 610 (Airlift Upcoming Films) got the same Oops. Both of those links I established myself. The Airlift link had worked for me when I made.
But the link for 1134, Neerja R&S, which was made by Sady, worked for me, now and yesterday. It made a new window for the thread. So did the links I'd made to connect my Jodi-lists work, as they'd always had.
The links that are not working now, had moved the window from one thread to the other. I made the links the same way, so I don't understand the difference.

PS going the other way, links that I'd made from 874 and 790 (Neerja) got the Oops, but the ones I'd made between 691 and 1091 (Wazir) did work, by opening new windows. Same method, same poster, different results. Dancelover

So would I be right to understand that when you make your links, you're generally putting in the code up to the number of the thread, regardless of whether there is more to the address or not? e.g. you would put: bollywhat.boards.net/thread/1133, even though the full address looks like this: bollywhat.boards.net/thread/1133/internal-links-working-morningIf so, that may be the problem. I edited the links you're talking about to put in the fuller address, and they all seem to be working well now. I checked Sady's URL, and hers has the fuller address. As to why this would suddenly be a problem if it wasn't before, I haven't a clue. I would speculate that as the size of the forum's database increases, it requires more data to be able to point to the correct thread. As an aside, if you wanted to avoid the bulky thread links that would result from this, you could always just say something like: The Neerja spoiler thread is available here. You could highly the word 'here' when writing your post and click the icon that looks like a planet in the top right of the bar above the text field where you write, and that would allow you to change the word 'here' into a link that would go to the address you wanted. It's easy to do and doesn't take much time, and your sentence would look like this: The Neerja spoiler thread is available here. Just a thought in case that might be helpful to you. Please let me know if using the longer URL has solved the problem for you. Take care, James

Yes, James, stopping with the thread number is what I have been doing. I also do that on another forum. I was so happy to discover that the extra words were not needed! Perhaps it is indeed needed now.

PS a link I just made in thread 523 (leading Southern actors) to a new thread in Stargazing for Meera Jasmine and Kavya Madhavan works with just the thread number.
