I realized that I know the words to translate a novel's title:
Jai Ki Sholay = Ashes Of Victory, a novel by David Weber. Right?
How would other titles of his be translated? (Note: even-numbered titles contain the word "honor")
On Basilisk Station (a "basilisk" is an imaginary Greek animal, a lizard whose glance kills.) The Honor of the Queen The Short Victorious War Field of Dishonor Flag in Exile Honor Among Enemies In Enemy Hands Echos of Honor Ashes Of Victory = Jeet Kee Raakh /=/ Jai Ki Sholay per desi4life War of Honor At All Costs Mission of Honor ----------------------- Crown of Slaves Torch of Freedom Shadow of Freedom = Swaraj Ki Chhaiya The Shadow of Saganami = Saganami Ki Chhaiya Storm from the Shadows

"Ashes of victory" would be "Jeet kee raakh"
Jai does mean victory but doesn't fit the context. Sholay means flames; it's the plural of shola which means flame.
