When you use the image tags on this forum, by default they let the image take up 100% of the width of the message, i.e.: [img alt="" src="http://idlebrain.com/movie/photogallery/shilpachakravarthy6/images/shilpachakravarthy7.jpg" style="max-width:100%;"]
As the aspect ratio of the image is preserved, this can make images (esp. images which are taller than wide) take up large stretches of a message: I don't know if the moderators want to see if they can change the default max-width to a smaller value, such as 30%:

For some reason, none of the scripts I'm pasting into the global footer seem to be working as they ought to restrict image size. I'll see if I can figure this out.

so is it better to attach pics or post links of the image? do the attached pics and the linked images show up on the threads as the same size? does anyone know a nice site to upload images and then link here without fear that the links to the pics will be lost down the road? Thanks!
