This is an upcoming action thriller from Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who previously directed Shor in The City, Go Goa Gone, and the upcoming Happy Ending. They described this new film as "Shor in the City on steroids" with location shooting in Delhi, Dubai, Hyderabad, Nepal and Sri Lanka. According to them, Shahid will have a new look and a role requiring a lot of range, and Kriti, even though she is the love interest, will also have a well-developed, plot-relevant character.
They don't seem to be filming yet, so there is a slight chance this project could fall apart if Happy Ending underperforms, but so far it sounds good.

Shahid presumably walked out of Farzi. The movie might be shelved.

Farzi has been a project that has been in the planning stages since 2014. Interestingly, Shahid Kapoor was initially considered as the lead in the movie.
Arjun Kapoor is becoming one of the most consistently successful actors in Bollywood right now, having delivered decent box office performances back to back in Ki & Ka, Half Girlfriend and Mubarakan. No wonder the film-makers are willing to sign him up for interesting projects. Now there is a rumour that Arjun Kapoor is being considered as the male lead in an action thriller called Farzi, that is to be directed by Raj & DK, the makers of the upcoming A Gentleman. Along with Arjun Kapoor, even Kriti Sanon, who was last seen in Bareilly Ki Barfi, is said to be considered as the female lead. If this casting comes true, this would be the first time Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon would be working together. Mumbai Mirror, who reported this story, had a source close to the project reveal the casting update to them, saying, "Arjun and the directors have had three meetings to discuss the film in the last one month and recently discussed the script too. The actor is yet to sign on the dotted line but will be on board soon. Raj and DK have been busy with promotions of their action film, the Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez-starrer A Gentleman. Once they are done with that, they will take the discussions on the new film forward. However when the newspaper contacted Raj, one of the director duo, he didn't throw much clarity on the news instead saying this, "We have been super busy with A Gentleman so we haven't had time to sit on Farzi yet. We should get to it early next month."

Arjun Kapoor Reportedly Passed A Film To Cousin Harshvardhan. What A Bro "The quirky subject is right up Harsh's alley," a source said Written by Nilanjana Basu | Updated: Aug 31, 2017 10:55 IST New Delhi: Arjun Kapoor reportedly doesn't want to be in a heist drama as yet. So, he passed on the project to his cousin Harshvardhan Kapoor, who is one-film-old in Bollywood, reported mid-day. Filmmakers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's much-delayed Farzi is what Arjun was considering but decided to skip the project in light of the fate of the director duo's new film A Gentleman, which recently tanked at the box office. "Arjun was in talks for Farzi, until recently. But then the director duo's A Gentleman, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez, released last week, and tanked at the box office. As reports started trickling in, Arjun felt that at this point in his career, it wouldn't be wise for him to act in a heist film," a source told mid-day. After not having taken up the project, the Gunday actor took no time to suggest Harshvardhan for the role. "He is also a producer's (Boney Kapoor) son, and doesn't like to keep anybody hanging. Arjun immediately recommended his cousin, 'Harsh baba', as he calls him. The makers went to Harsh thereafter. The quirky subject is right up Harsh's alley," a source told mid-day. Harshvardhan, Anil Kapoor's son and Sonam's brother, made his debut in Bollywood with Mirzya last year and is currently shooting for Vikramaditya Motwane's vigilante drama Bhavesh Joshi. Previously, Shahid Kapoor was considered for Farzi but dates could not be worked out because of his prior commitments. Talking to mid-day, Mr Nidimoru said: "Yes, we were in talks for Farzi with Shahid Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, but the talks were at initial stages, and they fell through. Then we got busy with the release of A Gentleman. Now, we are figuring out how to take things forward, and which actor to approach. As far as casting Harsh is concerned, it is too early to talk about it." Last seen in Mubarakan, Arjun Kapoor will begin shooting for Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar in October and also has Namastey Canada in the pipeline. Harshvardhan is also reported to co-star with father Anil Kapoor in shooting champ Abhinav Bindra's biopic
