I did a search to see if there were any other threads on this topic and didn't see one...so here goes!
So, being a librarian and liking to collect things, I have toyed with the idea of trying to acquire a relatively current run of Filmfare. I so love the glamorous covers, the ads, the superficial interviews, and the gossip. In the past I've done the yearly subscription thing through US distributors but that's kind of cost prohibitive (but I do still want to acquire current issues). I'm thinking I'll only collect from 2000 forward (though, of course, I'm tempted to buy a few vintage ones, too). I've also acquired current copies when I have a chance to get to Indian grocery stores, etc. Surprisingly, in my current Northeastern city, there aren't as many options as I would like.
So I'm looking for advice on how others may have acquired their copies (if they have them). I do know about ebay, of course, but it just seems like Indian sellers are selling at list price plus shipping and that will get expensive fast. Are there any other reputable sites online for back issues? Any other recommendations for figuring out how to acquire back and current issues in a cost effective way?

The only issue I have was sent as a free gift with an order of DVDs from Induna.

I haven't thought of collecting the paper copies, but I do love it, too. For a year, I had a digital subscription on Magster on my iPad, and it was I think under $10. Not going to help you in the collecting, but for anyone who just wants to read it and see the gorgeous photos, it's an affordable option.

Yes, I debate on whether or not to subscribe to the digital version. I did once when I had a free trial. I do always have access to all of the online sites like BollywoodLife and review blogs, etc. to keep me informed on the gossip and provide eye candy, but there's still nothing like owning the hard copies and the challenge of acquiring a full run of the last two decades is too good to resist. Also, I'm a librarian, but more specifically a rare books curator, so I'm always going to pick print over digital;)
