In August 2010, one Sunday, bored, with nothing on TV, I turned to Netflix instant streaming and being in the mood for something totally different, I watched my very first Bollywood movie. Bollywood Hollywood (cringe) was the first one, and it intrigued me just enough to search for more on Netflix.
Of course all of my family think I have gone off the deep end, but there is just something about the movies that touches something deep within me that I never even knew was there. The exotic (to my eyes) locations of the films fills me with a wanderlust that I was blind to. The beautiful cadence of the language has prompted me to try learn Hindi, the music touches a chord in my soul and I hear the beats in my heart.
Then on June 4, 2011 I registered at Bollywhat. Since that day, I've tried to read through all the posts and I've learned so much from all my Bolly-family, enjoying all the posts and discussions, even when I didn't join in.
I live about as far north as you can get in central Texas about 4 miles from the Oklahoma border, so most of my watching is either Netflix or one of the other free sites on the web, but I'm getting quite a library of films.

What was the movie that you watched after Bollywood Hollywood that really got you into bollywood? Rab Ne Bana di Jodi was the next film I saw. After that I was hooked. Started searching out everything I could find. I just saw my 193rd film on Sunday. Action Replay with Akshay. It's been quite a fun trip!

Hi bollylarki, Love your avatar!!! RNBDJ is an awesome movie! I loved it and even got hubby to watch it with me, but for the most part, my family thinks I'm nuts to watch Bollywood too.
