I'm requoting my previous idea for an SRK-Salman-Aamir venture here:
"I have an idea for a story with the three Khans, with SRK and Salman as the two protagonists and Aamir as the antagonist: SRK and Salman are both heads of rival business families who were once friends and business partners but were separated because Aamir, a lesser businessman, was jealous of their success and plotted to create misunderstandings between them. Then, we have the younger brother of SRK and younger sister of Salman as rookie executives of each business who are rivals initially but fall in love. The crux of the story would deal with the younger siblings uniting SRK and Salman so that their love can be accepted and bringing down Aamir. If the subject were to be treated properly and with a touch of realism, it would do wonders. For the younger brother we could have Ranbir/Sid/Varun and for the younger sister maybe Shraddha/Alia/Parineeti?"
What do you guys think about this? I feel that it would be a treat to watch the confrontation scenes between SRK and Salman, and Aamir would be able to indulge in experimentation with a villainous role. All three would have scope for meaningful performance - maybe we could have SRK as the heir who has to face the pressure of his legacy, and Salman as the self-made man of the people? Also, it'd be interesting to see sibling bonding between SRK-(Ranbir, Sid, or Varun) and Salman-(Parineeti, Alia, Shraddha). There would be scope for casting senior actresses as well - maybe Juhi for SRK and Karishma for Salman (they would charge less money than Madhuri, Kajol, etc) YRF would be ideal for this kind of a venture - they could make it a 6-hour long epic and release it in two parts to ensure budget recovery. The budget would probably be about 250 crores-300 crores max; seeing the kind of budget Baahubali has and the amount of money it has made with a limited audience, I feel like this film would easily be able to recover its money with the audience it would connect to. The phenomenal nature of this casting coup would ensue a historical record at the box office as long as the film is handled well. Also, there's potential for a sequel in which SRK and Salman retire after reconciliation and their younger siblings marry and take the businesses forward?

That seems a bit more feasible. Yeah, you only have two Khans to pay instead of three, and Aamir's approach to his work is more different from the other two than Salman's is from Shahrukh's: for instance they tend to be comparatively late risers/late arrivers onset compared to Aamir. The version of the rumor that I had heard was that Aditya Chopra wanted to direct a love triangle with Ranveer, Ranbir and Katrina, then cast Shahrukh instead of Ranbir (leading to about 30 secs of rumors about an SRK-Ranveer movie, which honestly sounds pretty cool to me) and then the next rumor was that Salman would play the other lead, and Katrina seemed to vanish from the rumors of the project altogether. Only hiccup is that Aditya, like his father, doesn't work all that quickly, and Salman's legal problems could be an issue. If they're getting Salman and SRK together after 17 years (Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam doesn't count as it was a delayed release that was filmed in 1997-1999), they had better come up with something better than a cliched love triangle with an actress half their age. Leave these kinds of roles for the younger generation.

I personally wouldn't sit through a 3-hr family drama of the Yash Chopra school starring the Khans and Varun Dhawan, unless the director were someone I were very curious about. Probably nearly everyone else who watches Hindi films would though. 6 hrs in two parts...i dont know. Baahubali and the equivalent multipart western fantasy/scifi movie series thingies are basically masalas combining romance, male bonding, action, spectacle and intrigue with some extra worldbuilding to justify the larger than life events and make the visuals more interesting. If I were casting a Three Khans movie, I would go research a historical setting in India where you could transpose the Three Musketeers easily (maybe the Marathi Empire under Shivaji and his successors?) and have Aamir as Athos (the broody one), Salman as Porthos (the comical super-strong one), Shahrukh as Aramis (the comical flirty erudite one), and Varun or Ranveer as D'Artagnan, someone like Shraddha as Constance. That you could maybe make 6 hrs long and get away w/.

I don't know why but every time I read about this my mind screams Amar Akbar Anthony remake. It would be better for them to do something completely original, but throw some old character actors in as their parents and ohhh my Goddd, it would be amazing.

They're far too old to play Amar Akbar Anthony now; but I could imagine them doing such a thing circa 1997, with SRK as Anthony (a Goan gangster from the 90s, basically his character from Josh), Aamir Khan as Amar (he would be perfect as the straight-faced police officer), and Salman Khan as Akbar (his comic innocence from the 90's would be great for the flamboyant qawwali singer, it would be kind of like his street-rat character in Judwaa)

I'm loving this! I was recently talking with my friend about an Amar Akbar Anthony remake with the younger guys of today, and I went with: - Ranbir as Amar - Ranveer as Anthony - Varun as Akbar
I initially thought Ranbir would be a good Akbar, but Varun's comedic timing is better I think.
Also! (sorry obsessed with the idea now) WHAT IF there was an AAA remake but with girls? Called like Anushka Anna Aliya or something. They would be played by: - Deepika OR Sonam as Anuska/Amar - Parineeti as Anthony/Anna - Alia OR Shraddha as Aliya/Akbar
I would like to see Shraddha in a comedic role, she would be very good.
okay. this is exciting. who would you all cast???
