So I got to thinking after moviemavengal posted this video earlier (and had to take a breather...I'll take one rain-drenched Prabhas for my house, please and thanks)...I really do enjoy a good Indian rain song! Whether sexy, playful, morose, or anything inbetween, rain is just a good aesthetic for a song. So what are your favorite Indian rain songs? I'll post some of mine below.
"Dekho Na" from Fanaa - This film has some of my favorite visuals of all time - I'm left breathless every time I watch "Mere Haath Mein" - and this song is no exception. From the slow-mo raindrops to the sizzling chemistry between Aamir and Kajol...whew.
"Pyar Hua Ikrar Hua" from Shree 420 - This is a song I saw before I saw the movie, and I fell in love with it instantly. How could you not?! Iconic.
"Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka" from Devdas - I'm just a sucker for Bhansali visuals. Bonus points for Paro's magic lamp that refuses to extinguish even during a downpour, and Aishwarya looking more ethereally beautiful than ever.
"Koi Ladki Hai" from Dil To Pagal Hai - This film's music has given me many earworms, but this one might be the one that has wriggled in deepest. I find myself humming this melody a lot. And it's a cute picturization, besides SRK's penchant for see-through shirts...lol.
"Tujhe Yaad Na Meri Aaye" from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai - This song might be my favorite part of K2H2. The raw emotion, the picturization...man, I just love it. My heart absolutely breaks for Kajol's character here.
"Nahi Samne Ye Alag Baat Hai" from Taal - You know how I said I'd like a rain-drenched Prabhas to myself? I'd like a rain-drenched Akshaye Khanna, too, please.
