This is an action comedy produced by Sajid Nadiadwala (Housefull Series, Kick, Highway, etc.) and directed by Varun's brother Rohit Dhawan (director of Desi Boyz, assistant director on various David Dhawan movies including Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Chashme Buddoor and Main Tera Hero). I don't feel that strongly about anyone in the cast, and was ambivalent about Desi Boyz (unappealing premise and shapeless narrative but way better acted than it needed to be, and I liked the droll, comparatively understated handling of the humorous parts). However, the production values on Dishoom should be good, Varun does comedy very well, and it's always possible that the story will play to Rohit's strengths instead of his weaknesses. Supposed to start shooting this summer for a spring 2016 release.

Well, there were rumors about Akshaye Khanna possibly being dropped as the villain:

Honestly, Dishoom sounds right up his alley, but unless he's taking over the villain role from Akshaye Khanna or just cameo'ing for the fun of it and because of his friendship with the people involved, I am skeptical about this one. John and Varun officially started shooting today, so it's not like one of the main leads dropped out recently.

It looks good indeed. John Abraham is good in the no non-sens kind of role while Varun is better as a comedian.

It reminds me of Bad Boys and Men In Black because the cops teaming up are really different from one another (personnality).
