From Filmfare's Twitter: "First picture of @iamsrk & Kajol from the sets of #Dilwale." Kajol looks fantastic! They look great! Kajol is indeed gorgeous! I really hope Rohit Shetty will have them romance in the movie and that Varun and Kriti won't have more to do than a cameo...

I dunno, Varun's been pretty ambitious about his career; I don't see him as the kind of guy who decides to do a guest appearance in a guaranteed blockbuster just for the bragging rights; and Kriti gave up a role she had trained for intensively in dance and martial arts because the dates kept slipping and were going to interfere with her ability to work on Dilwale. SRK's certainly not going to be shortchanged in terms of screentime, and if Kajol feels strongly about having a large role in terms of screentime and plot relevance she will probably get it, but I don't think the young people are going into this with the idea that they have relatively small or unimportant roles.
Chennai Express seemed to be Rohit Shetty riffing on the DDLJ style of film in his own weird way; I suspect this will be him riffing on the 3KG style.

Dilwale preponed. It may clash with BM the way OSO had clashed with Saawarya back in 2007.

Ajay Devgan may do a cameo role in Dilwale. It would be the first time Ajay and SRK act in a movie together.

I really wish they would pair some other senior actress other than Kajol opposite SRK - maybe Madhuri/Juhi/Karishma/Tabu, etc? I mean, I get they've given so many hits together, but it would be interesting to have a different pairing for once.....

I suspect also that the film will be quite long - recently, we've been moving towards longer films. Dil Dhadakne Do, ABCD 2, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan were all close to the 2:45 mark, and SRK's own Happy New Year was over 3 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if Dilwale was also that long in order to accommodate all the stars' footage.

Ajay Devgan may do a cameo role in Dilwale. It would be the first time Ajay and SRK act in a movie together. Interestingly enough, Ajay Devgan has turned down 3 opportunities to work with SRK in the past: Salman's role in Karan Arjun Akshay Kumar's role in DTPH Salman's role in KKHH

You can't get Tabu into a conventional love interest role, even a well-developed one, for love or money-that girl's just weird. And it's unclear how badly Karishma wants to be back onscreen. That being said, I'd love to see any of the women of that generation opposite the men of that generation.

That being said, I'd love to see any of the women of that generation opposite the men of that generation. A possible script for such a scenario could be along the lines of Jane Austen's Persuasion - for those of you who don't know, it's about two lovers who are separated due to the girl's meddling family, and meet together several years later with reversed fortunes and eventually unite again. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persuasion_(novel)Keep in mind that the ages listed here are reflective of the 1800s; the characters would be in their late 30's-early 40's in the modern-day scenario. Take SRK in Frederick's role and Madhuri/Juhi in Anne Elliot's role, a bunch of solid character actors as the comical Indian family members (e.g Anupam Kher, Nawazuddin, etc) and you have a classic!

I concur! plus I never really got the big deal about the so-called legendary SRK/Kajol jodi? I always felt that SRK/Juhi were so much better(it's a pity none of their films clicked expect Darr and they were not even paired opposite each other there ). So other than DDLJ, I found Kajol/SRK pretty loud and exasperating especially in those KJO/Dharma films! MNIK gave me a headache and I highly doubt Dilwale will be any better. Rohit Shetty is a terrible director IMO.

Yeah, that's the point. DI flopped, and Kharisma showed no interest in making another, or dancing in one either! (I'm sure that she could have had "Fevicol Se" for the asking.) She might not be "Lolo" any more.

PS Madhu Jain, in The Kapoors, said her name was the Hinglish spelling of "Charisma" not the Indian "Karishma"
