This film stars Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor. It's directed by Vikas Bahl, the director of the highly successful Queen. Wiki is calling Shandaar "a destination wedding film," but I've also read that Alia and Shahid play insomniacs in the film. Anyway, here's an article of Alia confirming her involvement in the film.

The posters of the film have been released on the internet, and the Shahid-Alia pairing looks quite odd - jarringly more like younger-older siblings than a couple. This makes one shudder to think what Alia would look like with one of the Khans if she looks like this with an actor as young as Shahid. Also, I'm wondering how similar the film's plot will be to Band Baaja Baraat, considering it revolves around wedding planning.

There's a reason I call her "Lolita Bhatt". I haven't seen any of her current movies, but she was good as the child-version of Preity Zinta's character back in Sangharsh, and so I'm kind of torn on her current popularity: on the one hand, I have a relatively favorable impression of her as an actress and person, and on the other, I find the male fans who call her "fresh" and "cute" and diss on other actresses as "aunties" super sleazy, and the attempts to sexualize her for movies and photoshoots incredibly disturbing.

Lolita in Nabukov's novel had not passed puberty yet - had not even begun it. Alia, when she made Student of the Year, was too old for that by 5-7 years! Alia is twelve years younger than Shahid, eight years younger than Siddharth and Arjun, six years younger than Varun, and three years younger than Tiger Shroff. No actress younger *(EDIT: as in "born later")* than Alia Bhatt has yet made a mark in Bollywood. Dancelover There's a reason I call her "Lolita Bhatt". That IS super sleazy! But Alia is really very talented. Her performance in Highway was remarkable, and she was easily the best thing about 2 States and HSKD. She also could pass for 14, no problem. The directors who use her need to be aware of that and take measures to address it in some way, imo. For example, if they go for bubbly and child-like with her, they're likely to get her reading onscreen as an actual child.

Yes, but that was the Twentieth Century, when many did. I see that I miswrote: I meant to say "*born later than*" Alia. Alia was born in 1993. No actress born in 1994 or later, no other born in 1993, not even any woman born in 1992 or 1991, has received as much respect as Kriti Sanan (1990), much less AB! No actress *?younger*? than Alia Bhatt has yet made a mark in Bollywood. Dancelover (who ought to have written "born after" AB, which was what he meant.) I thought Madhuri was as young when she debuted as Alia was in SOTY? Or younger?

Well, Madhuri's films at age 21 (e.g Dayavan - that atrocious scene with Vinod Khanna) are films that are best left forgotten. That being said, her more memorable films had her with actors like Anil Kapoor (Tezaab, Ram Lakhan), Sanjay Dutt (Saajan, Thaanedaar) and the Khans (Dil, Saajan, etc) who were more age-appropriate for her (Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt are about 8 years older than her and the Khans are about 2 years older). In my opinion, her best time was when she was a bit older and working with the Khans, who were perfect for her age-wise (HAHK, DTPH, Devdas, etc). The closest to Alia is Tiger Shroff, who is 3 years older - we'll have to wait a few more years to see her with more actors better-matched for her with age.

AMIT TRIVEDI ABOUT THE MUSIC
Two days back (August,5) the first look poster of Shahid Kapoor-Alia Bhatt starrer Shaandaar was out and since then audiences are going gaga over the extremely cute on-screen pair of the film. Alia looked cute and innocent in the poster, while Shahid looked smart and dashing in the leather jacket and the movie seems to be all about love and romance. Well, that was about the movie. But what's new? Music composer Amit Trivedi, who has composed the music of Shaandaar, told PTI, "It's an out-and-out mad wedding film. From the word go, till the end, it is mad. The film is about how a wedding takes place in a particular place. So the whole soundtrack is full of shaadi and dhamal."
The composer who has also composed for Karan Johar's Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu said, "There is a huge difference between what I composed for 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' and 'Shaandar'. There is no connection. More than typical Karan Johar, it is Vikas Bahl's. So the madness, the quirk is all Vikas" Interestingly, Trivedi and Bahl created magic with their collaboration on Kangana Ranaut-starrer hit 'Queen', whose songs 'London Thumakda', 'Kinare' and 'Hungama Ho Gaya (Remix)' were very successful. We hope even this time also Amit's compositions in Shaandaar will win audiences' hearts. Meanwhile, check out some inside pictures of Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt from the sets of Shaandaar. That being said - I'd love to see Alia in a children's film - maybe something like an older sister who has to take care of several younger siblings after their parents' death?

It could maybe be something like that old teen movie "Don't Tell Mom, the Babysitter's Dead" with Christina Applegate, sans the dead babysitter. Instead, for some reason, Alia's parents are dead and she is in charge of her younger siblings. But she can't get a decent job, so she makes a fake resume where she is older and has some good experience. That way, we could have an older actor in the movie, but when he creeps us out by being interested in Alia, that's actually part of the story. We'd need a baby-faced newcomer to be her actual, age appropriate love interest who doesn't realize she's living a double life.

We'd need a baby-faced newcomer to be her actual, age appropriate love interest who doesn't realize she's living a double life. Here we go: Film Title: Zimmedariyan (Responsibilities) Banner: Dharma Productions (Karan Johar) Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy Cast: Alia Bhatt as Shanaya, Ranbir Kapoor as Kabir (extended cameo), Newcomer as Rohan (2nd love interest), Harshaali Malhotra as 6-year-old little sister, Guest Appearance: SRK-Kajol as Alia's parents Plot: Alia is the oldest child (18) of a middle-class family in the suburbs of Mumbai. One day, her parents are killed in a car accident, and she is left with the responsibility of her four siblings, aged 15, 12, 8, and 6. She starts working as a pizza delivery girl but leaves after the manager mistreats her. Eventually she fakes a profile for the software engineering firm that her father used to work at, and the boss's son, Kabir, starts to fall for her, which is an issue due to their age difference. Overnight, she is forced to learn computer programming, which she manages to do so with the help of her nerdy best friend Rohan who secretly has a crush on her. The problem starts when the firm is about to collapse due to financial mishandling, and needs help on a new product immediately. Alia designs a mobile app game that takes the Internet by storm; unfortunately, Kabir eventually finds out that she is unqualified for the job, but by this time, her app has already revived the company's finances, and thus she is offered a job position, which she turns down to go to college. She and Rohan thus start a new relationship. Quite similar to "Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead" but adapted with talks of new technology.
