This song reminds me so much of the big dance number in the mirrored hall in Mughal-e-Azam. I'm sure it's an homage to that mostly black and white film.

I find that I cannot agree entirely. Expression: it does seem to be a Formal Presentation. Her expressions *must* be limited. Looking upon him as her Long-term Lover will not do! Color: the gold is Mastani's color. Therefore it dominates the space she is in. Bajirao and Kashiba have other colors, which do contrast, and draw attention to themselves. I felt that Priyanka's expressions were particularly interesting. Will she treat Mastani as Rival, or Ally? Dancelover I think the clothes are gorgeous, but the colors of the set shouldn't have been all gold, in my opinion. Everything just blends in because of it. As for the song, I think it's ok. It's sort of a letdown for me because SLB's soundtracks are usually great and memorable (especially HDDCS and Devdas), but the two songs that have been released for this film have been kind of "blah", in my opinion. Hopefully the rest of the soundtrack is much better! Also, I love Deepika, but I wish she had more expression in her dancing in this song. The expression on her face is just blank here.

I think I'm actually more excited about this one than SRK's Dilwale. I love historical movies, and this one looks like it'll be very interesting.

This does look good but that's not a surprise since it's made by a master of flamboyant visuals. A lot will rest on Ranveer's performance. I hope he'll be able to do the heavy drama that his role will most probably necessitate. In Ram-Leela he was much better in the lighter, romantic portions of the film than in the more dramatic second half. He claims he has grown as an actor. Let's see. (I think he's good but we haven't yet seen his best).

Priyanka's sari might have a bit more blue, but otherwise the costumes seem identical. Hairstyles too. Dehpika might be an inch taller. As co-wives they seem to get along well, though not as well as Madz-Aish in Dola Re Dola. Dancelover This does look good but that's not a surprise since it's made by a master of flamboyant visuals. I feel that both actors are giving it their all in this dance. There is obviously an intended contrast in their on-screen personalities. Mastani is more athletic and minimalist (deep lunge at the end - Kashibai - softer, curvier more 'feminine' with facial expressions to match. (I think Priyanka is striving a little to hard to achieve facial - 'incandescence' - in the style of Madhuri and Ash. I think Deepika has a fabulous 'line'. She just has to pose and she looks magnificent because of her elegant length (a bit like Cyd Charisse in that respect although CC was more accomplished technically.) I often like the choreography in SLB's films and this is no exception.
