This is a Hindi-language remake of the Mahesh Babu vehicle Okkadu. Arjun's father Boney Kapoor was supposed to produce, but is trying to sort out some financial issues right now, and so uncle Sanjay Kapoor is producing instead. The other main point of interest is that it is part of Sonakshi's sloooow shift towards working more with age appropriate male leads.

Sonakshi has told www.koimoi.com that "It is going fantastic. Amit Sharma is brilliant. ... very relatable film." Interview June 3, 2014. Dancelover

Trailer:
I haven't seen Okkadu but this kind of reminds me of the Telugu film Happy (one of my favorites! At least it used to be, haven't watched it in a while). So I'm somewhat excited to watch this although I don't care for Arjun (and it looks like Sonakshi, who I DO like, could easily be replaced with a very attractive sack of potatoes and no one would know the difference -_-)

I haven't seen Happy, I will have to give it a try.
This trailer mostly seems to have Sona in Masala Angst mode, which (IMO) she's not nearly as good at as she is at Masala Comedy mode.
The songs released so far are more spectacle than choreography, but are fun to watch:

Joganiyan. To my mind, the best of the songs so far, even if the opening bit reminds me of the flute motif from Thank You. Lead female vocals are by established Tollywood/Kollywood heroine Shruti Haasan, who's still kind of an up-and-comer in Bollywood. She also has an item number in the movie, called Madamiya, which has not yet been put online. (Warning: angsty montage video, contains violence.) Let's Celebrate. Token rap/party song. Can't vouch for the lyrics, but haven't heard too many complaints about them either. Video is basically a more G-rated Party All Night.

Shruti's item number Madamiyan, aka the most dancing Arjun's ever had to do in his life. Shruti is of course good-she's the daughter of Kamal Haasan, one of the best onscreen dancers in India, and she always does her dad proud. Song's nothing extraordinary in the music department, but since the comments are all yapping about Shruti's and Sona's physiques rather than condemning the lyrics I assume nothing too awful is being said.

Madamiyan is so wasted. If there was a song this year that calls for a massive outdoor dance in the streets it's it. This is just a normal (but nice) party dance with a set channeling Ram Chahe Leela.
