This looks BRILLANT. I just cannot express how much I love Bhardwaj's Shakespeare. He makes such rich and alive adaptions.
Shahid is truly unhinged in this and I love it.

Wow, this looks great!
Shahid looks incredible and this has VB broodiness written all over it, as befitting Hamlet. Can't wait!

I agree that the films have totally difference audiences. And Haider will have some big appeal in the main stream foreign film market.

But I must admit my first reaction was to be peeved at the Bang Bang people for doing that to Bhardwaj and his team. I mean, there's no denying the star power of Kat and Hrithik, separately or together.

Bang Bang booked October 2nd, 2014 much before Haider did. Originally BB was scheduled to release in May 2014, but after Hrithik's brain surgery in July 2013, they quickly rescheduled the release date. The announcement came in August 2013. Haider was originally not set to clash with Bang Bang, but they moved their release date early this year. Release date of Bang Bang moved: www.koimoi.com/bollywood-popular/bang-bangs-release-date-postponed/Note the date of the report- August 14th, 2013 Release date of Haider moved from 12th Sept to 2nd October: www.addatoday.com/2014/04/haider-may-release-on-2nd-october.htmlNote the date of the report- April 21st,2014 There are also reports that UTV, which is producing Haider and other biggies like Kick and PK, is strong-arming theatre owners to show Haider over Bang Bang, making them sign agreements that only if they show Haider on October 2nd do they also get to show UTV's other biggies. Fox, which is producing Bang Bang, doesn't have any other lucrative movies with which to tempt/arm-twist theatre owners. www.joinfilms.com/news/film-news/theatre-war-between-bang-bang-and-haider

These days it doesn't really matter, I think - there's plenty of people who'd be interested in both of them(like yours truly ). I remember when ZNMD was about to open the same day as the last "Harry Potter", and everyone predicted that it will completely go under - and it was a huge hit regardless.

I am not really worried about Bang Bang not doing well due to Haider. I am just pointing out that there is no need to feel sorry for Haider's team. They are the ones who are itching for a showdown.

I hadn't heard about UTV strong-arming theaters by bundling Kick/Haider/PK, but it's becoming a pretty standard procedure for the companies big enough to have multiple major releases going on. Kind of hope somebody finds a way around it because it could potentially squeeze out the smaller production entities and lead to an even more homogenous industry. Anyway, I'm sure Haider and Bang Bang will both do fine.

Thank you for finding this, and including the link to the translation! It's a really cool song, I just wish they had included a video, although I know that can be challenging for these more offbeat films to arrange.

"Trade analyst Akshay Rathi says, "Haider had announced its release date a year back, while Bang Bang kept on getting delayed and they finally finished the film and decided to release it on October 2. So Haider is at no fault."
I just wanted to point out that this claim is false. Bang Bang booked October 2nd first. Haider moved to that date much later, so one can make the case that Haider is the "aggressor" here, not Bang Bang. You said you were peeved with BB's team for putting Haider in a tight spot. I just wanted to clear that up. It is Haider that is encroaching on BB's territory, so to speak, and not the other way round.
