There's no doubt Katrina and Ranbir are dating. I have a feeling that entire Kareena-lets-the-cat-out-of-the-bag thing was completely pre-planned. Other than that, this episode was pretty boring. The Kapoor Quiz was cute, though! However, you can tell Ranbir and Kareena aren't close.

Filmfare says Shahid and Sonakshi are going to appear together: www.filmfare.com/news/shahid-and-sonakshi-on-koffee-with-karan-4917.htmlFilmfare attributes this to the success of R...Rajkumar, and I'm happy to see that being touted as a success, even though from the sounds of it I wouldn't like the film myself. But Haider should be a better film and perhaps an even better success, and maybe Shahid's career will start looking up? A fan can hope. I sometimes wonder whether Shahid's lackluster streak lately has been due to his own poor decisions or just bad luck (lack of opportunity). Anyway, this one I will definitely want to watch!

Should be cute...she's named him as one of her favorite costars, and she can be quite a bit of fun in interviews when partnered with someone who's on her wavelength.

It's probably too much to ask, but I hope Sonakshi's weight isn't brought up, again.

Wasn't going to watch the Aamir/Kiran ep, but I had to do some fairly mindless repetitive stuff on the computer so I gave it a try.
My chief reaction was: Man, don't play poker with Aamir (this is not a botox joke, merely a sense that he is hard to read), and man do not play any kind of tabletop game with either of them, because they both came off as major rules lawyers during the trivia round.
Aamir doesn't normally do much for me as a screen personality, and I didn't really warm up to him here. I think he would be a fun guy to hang out with though, once you got to know him.
Kiran was more amusing ("after a couple of glasses of wine, any music is fine to dance to and any conversation is good") and felt more genuine IMO. Kind of came off as Emma Thompson with fewer cursewords and a different accent: smart, sincere, saying and believing things that right-thinking people are supposed to believe, in witty, spontaneous ways but just a little patronizing and self-aware about the right-thinkingness.

Karan apparently invited Akshay and Twinkle onto the show, but Twinkle declined, and her husband is appearing solo. (Episode to be shot tomorrow, airs sometime in January.) As I commented on Filmigirl's blogspot today, here's hoping he and Kjo don't manage to bore each other to death. Akshay is a self-described introvert and tends to be uncomfortable and slow off the mark in English language interviews, especially solo. But we'll see: of the people whose eps have already been shot but not aired, he's worked with Shahid, Sonakshi, Deepika, Priyanka (although not recently), Madhuri (ditto), Juhi (and ditto), and Aditya. If one or two of them had something amusing/embarrassing to say about Akki, it might be interesting to see how he handles it.

So far I've found the episodes to be really boring. I wonder what the TRPs/ratings are like? Karan does get all the big stars on his show, but then things sort of fizzle out. For a show that's supposed to be about snark and gossip, there's been surprisingly little of it...I wonder if the stars are just not cooperating after fall-out from prior seasons of the show... Anyway, I might not bother watching more unless there's buzz that something truly interesting will happen!

The Salman episode was supposedly some kind of ratings blockbuster, but that was a season premiere with a big-name star who hadn't been on before.
In some cases, like Ranbir keeping his lip buttoned, I think there is clearly some kind of reaction to fallout from past episodes. But Karan turned 40 (IIRC) since the last season, and he's made noises about being unhappy with the industry feuds he sees around him. Some of the change may just be the host (and his more controversial guests, like Kareena) mellowing as they grow up. Also, the shift from supermodels (ie, women from a very catty, competitive industry where everyone's starving themselves to death) to star daughters (who have probably been indulged alot but usually also taught not to throw stones inside a glass house) and B-listers trained by the more diplomatic Tollywood/Kollywood/Mollywood industries has reduced the amount of public backbiting you see among the heroines.
There is I think still fun to be had with these more low-key episodes, but it's more a reading between the lines thing, rather than ZOMGosh, WHAT did those idiots say? (What does Salman mean by that gesture when he imagines Bebo as a housewife? What would games of Dungeons and Dragons look like at chez Aamir et Kiran?)

They wouldn't play D&D. They'd play Chess - the original way, as Indians first invented it! Dancelover [snip - d] What would games of Dungeons and Dragons look like at chez Aamir et Kiran?

Okay, so it's been a while since I've been here or posting anything, but here we go - mainly cuz I want to refute James' claim that the episodes are boring! Aamir-Kiran - I found his prank about her batteries really cute. Plus, you can see how competitive he is. He was jumping all around the place. And also, he kept deciding things on the show "give her the hamper" etc and spoke up when it wasn't his turn. You could see he's a guy used to getting his own way, even though it is a gentle way. Ranveer-Arjun - the most rambunctious episode probably, how they keep bursting into song in the middle of rapid fire, suspense be damned. Karan had to actually tell them to *leave* by the end of the episode. He really had no handle on them, he really really didn't. Nothing about this is boring, James, is there? (apparently there's going to be a future episode with Zoya Akhtar and Rohit Shetty. Hmmm....)

Check dailymotion. They'll have it. Thanks for the info. . Ranveer is charged as usual! Touching segment when Arjun honestly speaks of his fathers cheating , SriDevi and mother's sickness and sadly her death.

I so want to hang out with Ranveer and Arjun (but only if they include me, not ignore me)! I loved their hindi song singing and film references. Loved that they weren't too cool for bollywood.
