Hey, folks.
I'm dying to see Bahubali in its Telugu form. I'm looking around for places to buy the DVD but all there seems to be out there is Hindi dubbed.
Is this because Telugu Bahubali hasn't released on DVD yet, or is there some special site I haven't checked that has it? I haven't ever purchased anything Telugu so I'm quite clueless on this front.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance! Emily, I ordered the Blu-Ray at Bhavani DVD. It's the Hindi, but, it has a Telugu audio track. I'm hoping to get it soon. The Hindi regular DVD does not say the same, so I don't know. I also want to watch it in Telugu -- lips matching words. Blu-ray Disc (BD-50) Features : High Definition 24p Video - 1920x1080p-AVC H.264 DTS-HD Master: Audio Tracks 1 Dolby Digital 5.1 (16 bit): Audio Track 2 On screen Popup & More interactive Menus English Subtitle and Telugu Audio Stream

Thank you moviemavengal I was hoping you, as a massive Bahubali fan, would weigh in on this! Let me know your experience with that Telugu audio track. If all's well, then I'll pull the trigger on that edition.

She has made friends with the owners of the two main video stores on Devon Ave. in Chicago. She says it does not have the Telugu track on the regular Hindi DVD. They gave her it sort of under the table since she is such a good customer, but she heard elsewhere the official release date may be the 15th. I'll let you know as soon as I receive my copy, but if it doesn't come right away, I'll be out of town the whole week of the 18th. Margaret did say that the subtitles were much better even than what we saw in the theater. She's only rewatched the Dhivara song so far, but said it was better.

My Blu-Ray arrived from Bhavani DVD today and it is the Hindi dubbed only. There is no Telugu audio track at all.
It looks amazing, but I'm disappointed I can't hear Prabhas in his own voice!
From what I can tell poking around online, there is no Telugu version available yet at all. There is a Malayalam version on DVD and Blu-ray. Maybe they're waiting because it's still playing in theaters?? I'm just guessing.
Well, I'll be buying the Telugu when I can get it.

I won't settle for a version without Prabhas' own voice. Because, you know...Prabhas. So I will continue to wait!

I'm waiting for the Telugu version to purchase, too! Also debating buying the Hindi version anyway, since the music is different, I think? But definitely want to see it in the original version asap.

If I'm not mistaken the German Telugu blu-ray only has German subtitles which is a shame. So far there has not been a Telugu release of this film on blu-ray or DVD, the reason for this being the South Indian industry's practise of home video releases being bad. Let's say The Matrix releases in theatres by Warner Bros, now after its theatrical release, Warners then release the film on VHS, DVD, blu-ray etc themselves. South Indian production companies do not do this, they sell the home video rights of the film to an independent dvd/blu-ray publisher - due to the rampant piracy of movies in India, the studios would rather prefer someone else take the risk of releasing the dvd/blu-ray. They themselves would get the money from selling the home video rights and thats good enough for them (alongside selling the TV rights to the highest bidding channel). Now the problem begins when the TV channels bidding on the TV rights also want an inclusion that they get home video rights included in that contract, this means that they will have exclusive rights to air this film outside of cinemas without the threat of competing with the dvds etc. I believe this has happened with many recent Telugu films that havent seen a dvd release let alone a blu-ray one. Those particular TV channels have a monopoly on those movies meaning the only time people can watch them is when they air them. The same might be true for the Telugu version of Bahubali. Currently there is a Telugu version available to rent or buy from Google Play, in 4k but with standard dolby sound (and english subtitles), its not perfect but its cheap and the original language and it will have to do before a English speaking country releases the Telugu version on home video -
