Recently heard on the Bollywood Project that the reason behind the fallout between Deepika & Amitabh re: Piku Sucess Bash was because he attempted to sexually assault her or was at least inappropriate? I've been looking for the blind item everywhere that said it, so would appreciate sources if anyone has them.

Some say it's DP's PR others that AB Sr has always been a sleaze. Either way it was obvious something was wrong when she didn't even bother to invite him at the success bash she threw for Piku and that she justified it by saying the invitation she sent to AB Sr got lost... I don't know how it works but surely if you star in a "low budget" movie with a man who play your father (so they had a lot of screentime together) then you'll at least pick up your phone to ensure that person will come to your party.

I'm pretty agnostic on most blind items: a lot of them are basically PR warfare by other means, and except in a very few, rare cases, we will never know what's really going on, so you might as well believe what you want. If you like both Deepika and Amitabh, then in the absence of further evidence, I see no harm in believing the earlier blind item where they butted heads over money, because a). Bollywood, like most film industries, suffers from creative accounting practices, b). this was a relatively rare case where a female actress had asked for a cut of profits and c). surprise low-budget hits are precisely one of the situations where people sometimes fail to work out the profit sharing stuff in sufficient detail.

Oh wow I didn't know there were also money issues involved, but I should have realized. I like both of their work though, so I guess we will see how it rolls out. Good for Deepika though in asking what is due to her. Wage inequality, especially for someone as talented as her, needs to be challenged more often.

This is my first post and I came upon this thread while looking up on the internet about the blind item involving Deepika and Amitabh. It was shocking, to say the least. You can also go to oneplaceoneshot.com (OSOP) to read it: www.oneshotoneplace.com/july-2015-bollywood-blind-item/Interestingly, another blind item OSOP featured on the same page about Asin (Blind item – July2015) proved to be true recently. In my opinion, if an actress like Deepika (who always tries to be diplomatic and politically correct) had a difference of opinion over something like pay, she would use an opportunity like a party to set things right, not the other way around, especially if the actor is of someone like Big B’s stature. Molestation, on the other hand, would effectively make her want to do nothing with him again, or at least keep him at arm’s length. Just my two cents, and if this really happened, I feel like somebody should do something, but what exactly?

OSOP, like pinkvilla, basically recycles other people's news items, so them having a "true" item about Asin doesn't necessarily mean this one is true as well.
Maybe at one time in Bollywood inviting someone to a party was a good way to straighten out money issues, when everything was a handshake deal, but today I'm pretty sure the managers, lawyers and accountants deal with that stuff, and their advice to their clients would be to keep their heads down and not say anything to the other party that would muddy the waters. (Like with that business between Salman Khan and the producer of Veer, where sometime after the film had released, Salman supposedly told the producer, "oh, my manager's going to send you some silly letter, just ignore it" and the next thing the guy knew he was being threatened with legal action by Salman's manager for allegedly not paying Salman everything he was owed on Veer.)
Speaking hypothetically (like I said, I'm agnostic about the Deepika/Amitabh situation), Deepika and the other actresses with some clout (Kangna and Priyanka and to a lesser extent Vidya and Madhuri) are currently boycotting roles they consider beneath them; if there was some character actor in particular they considered an unpleasant old lech they could probably make a serious dent in his career by all refusing to work with him.
