A lot of bollywood cinema has been defined for me through the jodis (relationships/chemistry) but there are some actors and actresses that have never really had one. Ex: for Hrithik, I have always wondered: did he have a set jodi that I have just missed? I know he was pretty good with Kareena, Priyanka, and Aishwarya, but there isn't one that has stuck. Also other jodis I have wondered about: - it always been Kajol-SRK but could Rani-Kajol-SRK be one?
Rani doesn't really have a jodi otherwise
- Deepika-Ranveer or Deepika-Ranbir?
- Alia-Varun or Alia-Sidarth?
Would love to hear opinions on this, also other jodi's that you noticed that are good.

Ooh, I like this thread. I'm not really good with the younger crowd though so I'll stick with the above 30s, lol. Out of all of Hrithik's pairings I've liked him with Aishwarya best. Their chemistry is fantastic. You're right that Rani doesn't really have a set jodi, but I think she works good with a lot of people, so that's a plus hai na? I prefer Deepika-Ranbir, and put Ranveer with Anushka. Aamir-Kajol made an absolutely electric couple in Fanaa; it's a shame there's not more movies with them as romantic leads. One of my favorite--though short-lived--jodis. My absolute favorite is Raj Kapoor-Nargis; I also love Dilip Kumar-Vyjanthimala, SRKajol (who doesn't?), Dharmendra and Hema, and, as I mentioned above, Ranveer with Anushka.

Ah! My favorite subject! I was looking for answers to these questions when I began my Jodi Project: bollywhat.boards.net/thread/393 and other linked threads. Emily has said that she likes them. Rani has made three films with Aamir Khan: Ghulam 1998, Mangal Panday 2005, Talaash 2012. She has been The Third with SRK - Kajol twice: Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabi Kuchi Kabi Gaum. SRK has worked with Kajol six-going-on-seven times, with Madhuri Dixit five times, and with Juhi Chawla 9 times + a business partnership (after she famously pulled him out of a Waiting Line when he was trying to move from TV to movies. Each of those three Jodis has its fans. And welcome to these boards! Wow, you have really done your research!! Thanks so much for this. Also, happy to be here Also, emily! Totally agree with you about Hrithik-Aishwarya. They are both so beautiful that they kind of deserve each other. But I also love Hrithik with Priyanka! I didn't see Fanaa, so I definitely have to check that out now! Also I am still torn on Ranveer-Deepika-Ranbir, because the movies that these couples have done together are so different. I wanna see Ranbir in a "Ram" role and Ranveer in a "Bunny" role opposite Deepika and then we'll see! I do love Anushka-Ranveer though.

Some interesting jodis of the new generation: Sidharth Malhotra-Parineeti Chopra - They complement each other as a jodi well and remind me of SRK and Juhi Chawla. Hasee Toh Phasee was almost like a trip back to the days of Yes Boss. Sid's distinguished, subtle demeanor is reminiscent of SRK, and Parineeti's enthusiasm and earnestness reminds one of Juhi Chawla's charming comic timing. Varun Dhawan-Shraddha Kapoor - Both of them have a certain childlike innocence that is endearing. Varun is akin to a young Salman Khan while Shraddha has the grace and exuberance of a younger Madhuri - Hum Aapke Hain Koun remake with them, anybody?

For me, Kajol/SRK are the best pair. They have so much chemistry that I used to think they were actually married. Then, SRK forms a good pairing with other actresses too like Rani, Juhi or even Aishwarya but there isn't the same spark. And Kajol was great in Fanaa with Aamir and looked good in the movies she did with Saif back in the 90's. I prefer to see Rani with Abhishek. They were natural together. I think she brought the best out of him. A pity they'll probably never star in a movie together again... And Juhi looked good with Aamir. They had a freshness and familiarity that showed on screen. For me though Hrithik looks good with Aishwarya, I crave to see him with Kareena. They were OTT together but there was something there. I was really excited to see them in Shuddhi but it sadly won't happen. Other jodis which looked good together are Saif/Preity, Shahid/Amrita, Saif/Vidya, Esha/Fardeen, Salman/Aishwarya, Salman/Madhuri, Saif/Rani, ... In the younger lot, I think Sonam looks good with all the actors she's worked with ; same for Shraddha. I would love to see Sonam star in a movie with Ranbir, Shahid or Imran again. Deepika looks better with Ranveer than with Ranbir but Ranveer forms a better pair with Anushka Sharma.

In therm of trios, there is also Rani/Preity/Salman or Rani/Preity/Shahrukh...

I especially love Abhi-Rani...I loved the more intense scenes between them in Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and should probably get around to seeing Bunty Aur Babli. Also, Aamir and Juhi in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak are total. cuteness.

Everyone alays goes on about SRK and Kajol and, although I do like that jodi, my favourite SRK pairing is with Madhuri. Another couple that I also like is Ajay and Aish (I hated her with Salman in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and this was even before I found out about their private life).

I agree with most of these - not so sure about Sonam and Imran (they are both kind of boring) but I'm sure she was good with Ranbir (I haven't seen Saawariya yet). I wasn't as big of a fan of Rani Abishek but I can see how she brought out more in him. To me, it seems like certain women are way more fluid than the men - I can see Rani having great jodis with Saif, Abishek, and even SRK, and Deepika works amazingly well with both Ranveer & Ranbir. One thing I never want to see again though is the Kareena-Imran jodi.

Both are handsome (yeh ; I'm shallow lol) Also, they acted in Punit's movie and he's not a great director . And IHLS script was weak. I'm still waiting for them to be cast in something interesting together. Lol I'm right there with you concerning Kareena and Imran. They looked like siblings. Their pairing was okay in EMAET because they didn't end up together and Kareena's character didn't seem all that interested in Imran's but in GTPM their ending together wasn't needed. He should have ended up wit Shraddha.
