(also starring Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Vivaan Shah, son of Naseeruddin).
Directed by Farah Khan (Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om), supposedly with an eye to a Diwali 2014 release (ie, around October 23), this takes place at least partly in Dubai (and was shot on location there), and involves a dance competition and a heist, with Farah comparing Shahrukh's character in this to George Clooney's character in the Ocean's Eleven movies.

I just took a look at the (very brief) Wikipedia entry for this movie, and under "cast" it lists Mark Wahlberg in a guest appearance! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_New_Year_(2014_film)Anyone heard anything about that? It just seems so... random.

It's not impossible, but there's so much flakiness about Indian films on wikipedia that I don't know whether it's true or not. I guess we'll just have to see.

Thanks! Wish these poster art people would be a little more careful about their photoshopping, but I like the shiny colors, and everyone looks stylish. (Although the guys are reminding me of other people, for some reason: SRK of Ajay, Sonu of Akshay, and Abhishek of Arshad.)

The SRK fans probably already know this, and I apologize for not being around to post any updates, but SRK was injured a few weeks back during the filming, due to a door falling on him. At the time, the media made much of his "profusely bleeding" head injury, ignoring the fact that scalp wounds bleed all over the place at the slightest provocation and are pretty much the least of your concerns with a head injury. He doesn't seem to have had a major concussion or anything like that, but he did fracture his shoulder badly enough to be stop work for a while, and although he's resumed filming, Farah's making him take it easy and is trying to keep him from overexerting himself.

BoxOfficeIndia calls HNY "second most awaited film of 2014." D (also starring Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, and Vivaan Shah, son of Naseeruddin). Thank you! They do indeed. I particularly like Abhi's cartoon-Sikh-gangster look.

Supposedly there's actual footage from HNY in this promo for the SLAM! tour that SRK is organizing to promote the film. Not sure I believe it, but hey.

Malaika Arora Khan is in this promo. She is the first woman to appear in it (for a half-second, so don't blink!).

Me too-haven't seen Main Hoon Na, but Om Shanti Om was one of the movies that made me like SRK and Deepika as actors, Abhishek and Boman can be very funny, and best of all, it's a movie about a dance competition directed by a choreographer!

Deepika and SRK are good together. It's a nice cast. I hope the cinema over here shows it - they're showing Kick currently, so maybe!
