This is the film formerly known as Mental or Radhe; a remake of AR Murgadoss's Telugu film Stalin, starring Chiranjeevi. Daisy plays Salman's love interest (a role originated by Trisha Krishnan), and Tabu plays Salman's older sister who is estranged from the family due to a quarrel with their feisty mother. Of the three Hindi language remakes of Murgadoss coming in 2014, this has arguably the weakest director: Salman's brother Sohail is not usually regarded as much of an auteur. (admitted, it's been a dozen years since his last directoral effort; he's had time to learn). Salman's been going around saying that this is not "one of those" masala film that he used to make and are now going out of fashion (according to him and some analysts); I've only seen about 2/3rds of the original but my impression is that he would play the part well, and the character is fairly similar to the way his admirers in India like to think of him: a family man (in the loyal son/brother sense) and humanitarian with a fierce temper that gets him into trouble. Film is set to release on January 24, 2014. It's been a long, messy shoot, our thread at the old forum had more details: www.bollywhat-forum.com/index.php?topic=35973.0

First look poster is out; seems like the Khan brothers want to help SLB bring back the hand-painted retro look: The vaguely "heroic Soviet art" style is very appropriate to the storyline, and that's a pretty clever visualization of the "Pay It Forward" concept involved.

Longer trailer; unfortunately not much more of the character stuff. Some nice action scenes based on the South Indian Laws of Physics, though.

Tere Naina song:
Don't have time right now to figure out which of the two or three romantic picturizations from Stalin this corresponds to.

I don't know what Salman has been saying, but judging from the trailer, this looks like yet another 'masala' movie, with OTT action sequences and mostly likely a topless Salman near the end.

Yeah, it's really ironic that he's been going around saying masala is dead, and Sohail's been going around saying this one is "different" but the trailers are so been there done that. Like I said in the original post, it's based on a film that has some over the top action scenes but ultimately prioritizes the family drama and social message stuff above them (rather than the family stuff and social stuff being an excuse for the OTT fighting).

"wedding song" from Jai Ho, would be the last one in the film's internal chronogical order if they follow Stalin:
I believe this is the rough equivalent from Stalin, just so you can see what a gap there is between Chiranjeevi and, well, everyone, as dancers:
