bollywhat.boards.net/thread/247 is the Upcoming Films thread.
Times of India gives Roy 2.5 stars; Koimoi only 2; both from 5. They have the same problem: the plot. (as usual.) The other elements, they both like.
As for the Box Office, Box Office India said it opened at 40% of seats filled, which is not only the best of 2015 so far, but actually good. Now we shall see if the Lead Actors attract more viewers than the plot drives away.
Their Fan Polls so far are averaging 2.2 stars (TOI) and 3 stars (Koimoi).

It opened pretty well at the box office, I'm told, due to popular music and the Ranbir fandom going through severe withdrawal pangs. But I've seen some astonishing brutal comments online.

Going Sunday as usual. We had a wine tasting party for the social group I belong to and a new member brought his brother. The brother spoke some Hindi, his accent was worse than mine, his wife loves Bollywood, and they are all coming Sunday. I haven't met the wife yet, but they live 3 blocks away. They just moved here from back east a couple of months ago. I am hoping it is better than the reviews are saying! Will report back.

Sister, Indian friend and I saw it today. It was a slooooooooow moving art film. The scenery was fantastic, lots of torturous facial expressions of emotional pain, and we all three liked it. Sister is now a fan of Arjun. New friends didn't come due to bad reviews. The only other people in the theater, an Indian family left at interval.

Roy started great: 9.25 crore on Friday; continued good: 10 crore on Saturday. Then crashed: 5.5 Sunday, only 2.75 Monday, headed for 34 cr first week.
The Big Cricket Match versus Pakistan was blamed for Sunday.
It seems to me that everyone in a big hurry to see Ranbir went on Friday, and everyone else who wanted to see Roy made sure to go on Saturday. At least it got some receipts.

Box Office India March 7: Roy crashed out in week 3. Only 36 crore lifetime expected. FLOP.
