Anyone with a projector? I recently got one, and must say it's nice to have the good parts of the theater experience at home.
There are 'short throw' projectors for projecting a big image even in smaller rooms. Projectors now are bright enough that a completely dark room isn't needed. A dedicated screen isn't a requirement, as a light-colored wall seems to work well enough.

I too use a video projector to watch movies! It's a lot more convenient way to watch than the small laptop screen, especially if watched with several friends. The internet has completely fulfilled my need to watch the ordinary television so I don't have one of those huge modern TV screens at home. When I bought my projector a couple of years ago, the cheapest models were only around the same price as cheapest laptop computers available at that time. My movable projector stand fits behind the couch. Normally I have framed movie posters hanging on my wall but they can be taken down whenever I want to watch movies. The projected video happens to be just the right size for the white wall in my relatively small room.
