It is unusual for Kareena to fail this much fashion wise.

The Pinkvillesians were raking Rani over the coals about this outfit, but seriously, look at the men! From left to right: electric blue silk shirt in a style better suited to a twenty-year-old; velvet jacket and more lipstick than the lady; and gangster facial hair plus a plaid jacket that escaped from the 70s. (Edited to alter snark about Anil's facial hair, original version was insensitive and I apologize for it.)

The High Heel Confidential girls liked this look but then again, they also liked this look of Aditi Rao Hydari. They actually preferred this look to Rani's

Oh dear. Aditi's a very pretty lady who can carry off a lot of things, but that looks like she was transported to the planet Mongo, and Princess Aura dressed her up in an old bedsheet and a dead crystallized anaconda so that she would blend in better.

My first thought was of that horrible swan dress thing that Bjork wore ages ago. Ack. Also, plaid jackets are just plain wrong. On anybody. Ever.

Having a train at the front of your dress? - never a good move, high liklihood of tripping and falling flat on face. What a dreadful dress, poor love

I guess I have no taste, but I actually like what Rani's wearing there and think she looks good in it. I do dislike what Karan Jauhar and Anil Kapoor are wearing. Akshay's clothes look nothing special for someone you'd expect to be rich and have a stylist, but it doesn't offend me. The undone buttons annoy me, but that's a normal BW look and common amongst lots of Indian men, you see it all the time here in Toronto, too, in the Indian community.
ETA: In fact, the thing that stuck out to me regarding Rani's appearance was how fair she looks. She's actually much darker in real life, either she's wearing a LOT of makeup or that was some good lighting.

James, I don't really mind what Rani is wearing. I like the colours; I just think that, because she's so petite and the clothes are so wide, the outfit overwhelms her a bit. As for Akshay, his clothes are nothing special but he does look good (and yes I'm partial to both Akki and that shade of blue )

I like Akki's and Karan's looks (lipstick on men I have gotten used to after being exposed to it while looking Korean Drama press launches) and Rani is one of my faves so it is no surprise that I like her. I think the colours are good but the outfit is not so hot (loved the earrings though).
Plaid jacket is a no no unless you are David Beckham/Brad Pitt or Ryan Gosling.

Per your last comment, they were harsh on that outfit, and I rather like it! And I'm certain that they would consider me to have no taste in clothes. Ah well! You're right that the clothes are wide, and I'm not into fashion but I get how that's a disadvantage for a shorty like Rani, so point taken. Considering a salwar kameez usually isn't fitted, though, I'm surprised they were so harsh about the outfit. Blue is my favourite colour, though, so agreed about the colour of the shirt. lol
