That song Gerua is visually quite stunning, but aurally, I couldn't care less if I ever heard it again. I didn't find the lyrics or the singing particularly inspired. I hope the rest of the soundtrack is better than that.

I hope the rest of the soundtrack is better than that. Visually it is too even - not enough contrast IMO. Meeting parting, meeting parting - Kajol does a back bend - repeat with change of scenery. I thought Shankar did better with surrealism, water and floating fabrics in "I" (Tu Chale).

I didn't quite think of it like that till you pointed it out, Lydia, but now that you mention it, I see your point. It almost comes across as a 'best of' of the moves we've seen in all their other film songs together, I wonder if it was intentional or the choreographer is to blame. The scenery in the song is really beautiful, though. My friend recently visited Iceland and came back with similarly stunning visuals in her photos.

I think it is intentional and would go as far as to say there was negligible or no choreography. The couple were just asked to do their usual stuff. More money for car crashes and other action effects. (Very cynical - I know)

New song. Honestly, it's pretty terrible.

New song. Honestly, it's pretty terrible. Sadly, I must entirely agree. If anything, that's way worse than the first song, for me. And I'm a fan of the three of them (SRK/Kajol/VD). *sigh*

Gerua as a song is really growing on me (woke up with it in my head this morning) but that second song is unbelievably bad. Song, picturization, everything. Yuck.

Oh my Gosh, I LOVE this one!! I actually gasped out loud when it went black and white and they sang under the umbrella. Shree 420 allusion with the street and the curve of streetlights! emily what other movies can you spot? Is the ballroom scene from another Raj Kapoor movie?

Wow that is very cool!! Off the top of my head I don't think that ballroom scene is a reference to any other RK film.
