Aw yeah. I kinda sorta love historic epics with pretty people. This looks like my kind of film. I'm going to end up seeing Dilwale and BM on the same day and getting a total Bolly overload, lol.

I could nitpick it a bit (the battle scenes do not compare favorably to Jodhaa Akbar or the Baahubali promos, and although the precursor state to the Marathi Confederation ruled parts of South India at one point, I doubt Bajirao would have used an urumi...) but the human drama looks pretty cool, and battle banners are an excellent outlet for SLB's love of drapey, emotionally expressive fabrics

I can't believe a week went by with me unaware that this teaser was out. Teaser itself is pretty poorly made imo - almost like SLB just felt compelled to show us something from the set so we don't forget about his project - no cohesion, no hint of a story. That's okay. I don't exactly watch his films for the story, but for the beautiful beautiful people, dances, costumes and cinematography. And to that end - check, check, check, check. P.S. Can anyone vouch for the accuracy of the costumes? They look very... Ottoman to me.

I got interested in the setting after reading about Bajirao on wikipedia, and the clothes seem consistent with what i have seen there. Although predominantly hindus by religion, the members of the Marathi Confederation had been ruled by various sultanates (with what that implies about middle eastern cultural influences) until the time of Shivaji, and their clothes and armor reflected that.

Agreed, it seems very very choppy, but they are probably very worried about Dilwale, so they rushed out some teasers. Hopefully the movie isn't as rushed. Overall though, I am most excited to see what Deepika pulls through, she shines in this trailer over anyone.

How do you figure this? Bajirao wasn't a drunk. He did not run from his problems into alchohol; he went out and solved them! And he had sons by two different wives. All three sons inheirited from him. (I just read the Wikipedia article.) Devdas was the Anti-Bajirao, including being a fiction instead of fact. Dancelover
Devdas + Jodha Akbar = Bajirao Mastani

Got to see this trailer again before watching Katti Batti. I have to say, it looks a real treat on the big screen. I really do hope it comes to my city, though with Dilwale releasing the same weekend, it looks unlikely. Best case scenario is that AMC will show Dilwale and the artsy theater will pick this one up (the artsy theater showed Bombay Velvet and Bahubali earlier this year).

Emily, I remember a week when no less than five (5) BW films were showing in or near PHiladelphia. So we can hope. Dancelover Got to see this trailer again before watching Katti Batti. Some pictures of Deepika on set: According to Pinkvilla, these are for a song called 'Deewani Mastani' from the film.

I think the clothes are gorgeous, but the colors of the set shouldn't have been all gold, in my opinion. Everything just blends in because of it. As for the song, I think it's ok. It's sort of a letdown for me because SLB's soundtracks are usually great and memorable (especially HDDCS and Devdas), but the two songs that have been released for this film have been kind of "blah", in my opinion. Hopefully the rest of the soundtrack is much better!
Also, I love Deepika, but I wish she had more expression in her dancing in this song. The expression on her face is just blank here.
